Affiliate Marketing Equals Free Money?

Last Update: August 21, 2020

Free is a bit of a strong word. Nothing is truly free.

However, there is something awesome about affiliate marketing.

Site #1

I have a website that I put up in December of last year. It has 9 posts on it.

9.

And I did some pins for Pinterest for each of the posts. That's it.

I haven't looked at it in months.

And yet, it's been making me money.

It's not thousands of dollars. Certainly nothing to write home about. But it consistently brings in a little here and there.

Last month it made $30 from a program that I promote on there and $10 in Amazon sales. I know I'll get at least $15 from it this month.

And I haven't done a thing with it since April. Can you imagine if I actually worked on it consistently?

I have to be honest and say that I haven't been doing a great job with working on my main site either. I have been really distracted lately...

I only put out 2 blog posts last month. But, yet, I had my best month ever in July!

This is the power of affiliate marketing. The work that you put in now continues to pay off later.

So while it's not exactly "free" money because of the work that you initially put in, it's as close as you're going to get.

(It's that elusive passive income that everyone is looking for...)

Wealthy Affiliate has taught me how to do this, and I am very grateful for that! If you have any doubts about this place, I assure you that I have zero regrets paying for my yearly membership here.

That's it for today, and I'm off to hibernate again!

Haha, not really. I'm working on a new blog post for my main site, but hibernating does sound nice! :)

P.S. I recommend not following my lead and instead stay consistent with your work habits. You will be much better off if you do!

P.P.S. Have you ever had "surprise" affiliate money show up? I'd love to hear about it. Let me know in the comments below!

Well, I guess it's up to the person who's doing the buying! But it's working out great for you anyway! Congrats!

I consistently get sales from one of my sites that I have not done anything for over a year. But the secret like we all know is Quality Content. Every Google "panda" only brings more traffic.

WA's training is terrific.

100%. Quality content is absolutely key. You definitely can't just throw up some nonsense.

Congratulations, nice work Christina, since my first surprise small amount from Amazon, I haven’t seen any more sale. I know it will eventually happen again.

Thanks for sharing.

I have had surprises from both Amazon sales and Adsense! It is always fun to have surprise money show up! Like you, I hadn't done much on my sites for a while, so it is thrilling when I make a sale.
