I am currently using Email (Atmail) on WA for one of my domains. I wish to use the Webmail facility on Namecheap which I already have registered at Namecheap so I need my mail

If you purchased email from Namecheap, then you can just delete your email here in WA and use the Namecheap email servers.

If you have not purchased email (only purchased a domain) at namecheap, then you cannot use their email. They will give you one free "forward" but it requires you use their namecheap DNS. Changing the DNS of your domain to WA counts as "custom DNS", and means you won't get free email from Namecheap.

Good to hear from you Nathaniell and thank you for the very simple and straightforward answer. Hope all is well with you. I'm currently in Shanghai again returning UK early May.

I'm doing well! Hope Shanghai was fun Claud:)

Go to Rubix site manager then click email upper right corner. a box will open then click new email forward and fill in the box that opens to forward. Then click create.

Hi Judson,

Thank you for your swift reply however perhaps I did not explain clearly what I wish to do, sorry. I do not wish to forward from WA to Namecheap, I wish my email to be entirely handled by Namecheap and delete the email facility in WA entirely.

Where can one view the thread for a support ticket or previous support tickets?

Previous support tickets are listed in your private messages I think. Click "read" and it should list previous conversations.

Thanks, stupid me!!! I have been away for a while and completely forgot, looked in Support for the threads rather than private messages. Currently in your old stomping ground....China/Shanghai

Ah, glad you found it. I haven't sent a support ticket for a while so I guess I forgot!

I am using a theme by the name of Corporate Lite. Towards the bottom of the page there is a thing titled 'Our Blog' I wish to remove/totally disable 'Our Blog' and everything b

Many thanks Nick and Fran for your kind help. Regrettably my website has now become totally corrupted. Did a backup before it was corrupted, used import which made it even worse. So now want to delete the website and start all over but cannot find how to delete the website. Many thanks again for your fantastic help.

Claud,
Go to SiteRubix Manager the click on Details and at the very bottom of the page click delete this site. Make sure when you start your new site and you are in the Dashboard choosing your theme...deactivate the theme you were using and then reactivate it...to get rid of corruption and start new.

Many thanks Nick for the advice

Claud, is this your own domain or is a site on the SiteRubix.com domain? If it is your own domain, you probably don't want to delete the site.

However in that case, not only deactivate your theme, but delete it from the installed themes. Also delete any plugins that you added or activated before backing up the site, in case it's a plugin conflict.

SiteSupport (reached from another link in the SiteRubix manager) makes regular backups of your site. You'll have to let them know the last time that it was _not_ corrupted.

Hi Fran,

Just to let you know that I am now in business again with the Corporate Lite theme and have already reconfigured the basic structur, thanks to, your help and advice. I am most grateful.

To answer your question, it is in fact my own domain but no problem having deleted my first attempt with the theme as I had not gone very far in the development so deleted it and started again with the same theme. This is in fact my second website.

My next task is to get a few images in place and then commence work on the content.

May I ask, do you use the Corporate Lite theme? I am using it as it satisfies the requirements of a business website, ours being financial consultancy, project cost management and business process consultancy much of which will be related to the construction industry but certainly not all.

You very clearly have very sound experience and knowledge having read your profile this morning and have and are having a very interesting life. Well done and keep it up Fran.

Best wishes
Claud

Greetings, Claud;

----------------------
Where is header
"Our Blog"...
----------------------
For Corporate Lite, the "Our Blog" seems to be controlled via their index.php file. I have attached two screenshots below
1. Go to Appearance > Editor > Corporate Lite (the theme is selected via a select menu, top right of the Editor page).

2. Find the index.php in the column of file names. The first screenshot below shows it, listed with other files.

3. Click on the index.php file name to open that file in the editor.

4. Do a browser find (Mac: command-f; Windows: cntrl-f) for "Our Blog"; then follow the highlight or arrows to see where it is seen in the code. The second screenshot attached below, shows the location.

5. Change it there and remember to click the "update file" button.

----------------------
Best Practice:
Child Themes
----------------------
Claud, it's important to note here, that whenever your theme updates, the index page will be wiped out, and will again be the index php code from Corporate Lite.

As you work with WordPress, you will find that WordPress updates often (mostly security updates—obviously important). Themes follow with their own updates, often; as do plugins.

The official workaround to the loss of your own tweaks is to create a child theme of your parent theme. The parent theme must already be installed. Then you make a child theme. The index.php file and styles.css file would go into the child theme (and possibly others as needed). WordPress looks to see if you have the same file name in your child theme as named in the parent; and will use yours instead, in the case of php files; or override styles, in the case of css files.

Here is a plugin that will configure a child theme for you very easily.
Child Theme Configurator.

- Go to your WP Dashboard > Plugins > Add Plugin.
- Type into the search bar: Child Theme
- Select Child Theme Configurator (which is what most WA experts recommend)
- Here is a nice training on it. Very simple. Very straight forward. ----------------------
After Plugin
is installed...
----------------------
- Once installed, go to WP Dashboard > Tools > Child Themes.
This is the editor for the Child Theme Configurator.
- Change any default settings there and then click the button to "create child theme".
- Importantly, next click on their "File" tab. Here you want to check "index" to copy over the index.php file. This is your target file. You may want to additionally consider changes in the "footer" and "header" files. If you know you want changes in those, now, then check those as well.
- Click the blue button to "copy selected to child theme". When the page refreshes, these will now be listed in the section. See the 3rd attached file, below. Notice that you check any and delete them at any time.

----------------------
To Edit Child
Theme files...
----------------------
To edit those files (styles.css, index.php, or others) in the child theme, go back to Appearance > Editor.

This time, instead of selecting "Corporate Lite" from the menu, select "Corporate Lite Child" from the drop down menu in the editor. Then remember to click the [SELECT] button right next to it. Otherwise, it will not flip over to the Child themes; it will instead stay with the default Corporate Lite theme.

There click on the Main Index Template, "index.php" and make sure your changes to "Our Blog" are there.

Since this is a php file, in other words an executable file, take care how you make changes, preserving quote marks and any other special characters.

All the best!

Claud,
You can check this link out it might help: https://colorlabsproject.com/tutorials/customizing-a-wordpress-theme-the-right-way/
Word of caution...if you do not feel comfortable after reading this do not touch the code you could mess up your theme and go through having support help and then deleting your theme and then reactivating. Hope this helps! Nick
