Hi, my privacy policy and some other stuff are showing on Google that I don't want visible. How do I mark them Noindex and Nofollow? The training shows an old screen with check

If your using The All in SEO plugin you can try this on the page you are trying to use no follow

One other option you have is to set those posts and pages you don't want visible yet to draft. (change from publish to draft).

You can go to Wordpress Backoffice hover over all posts find the one of interest and do a :"Quick Edit" to change its status to draft.

One thing that typically happens is that people tend to forget they set their posts to "noindex and nofollow. .

Depending on SEO plugin you use, it may be below your posts | pages.

As far as I know, it is okay for them to show.

I use the All in 1 SEO that came with the website. I used to have the checkboxes but the layout has changed and now there's no boxes like that

Hi all, hoping someone can help. I've exported posts from website A and imported them to another website B. Using the 'Redirection' plugin, I've added redirects from website A

I Believe the Google search console will re-index them over time on its own but it should be faster if you resubmit your whole site map. I recently exported posts from one site and imported them to another. They do show up in Google search consul at the new site for certain keywords. Hope that helps

Great thanks Greg!

Hey
No harm submitting a sitemap. I would have used the move feature unless my domains are not hosted here.
Thank you.
Lula

Hi, when you say the move feature, are you referring to the import/export? I have already done this.

I'm not transferring one website to another domain, I'm just wanting to move some posts and making sure the traffic goes with them.

That video is for moving the website to a new domain with no content. I'm moving some posts from one domain I already own to a second domain I own that is well established. That video states that using the move tool will overwrite and delete any existing data on the new website. I'm not wanting to change my second website, simply add posts to it.

no worries, I appreciate the effort this online stuff gets complicated!

I've got Amazon site stripe which shows text link only. In all the tutorials I search, people have an 'image' and 'text&image' option also. I can't find how to access these

Hi i'm having the same problem. did you manage to fix it? i'm pulling my hair out over it....

Are you on an actual product page or just Amazon.com ? The text link is only active on amazon.com but if I click on a product on Amazon then the other two options are no longer grayed out.

merlynmac is right, the feature is only on Amazon.com. I confirmed with them that its not available on amazon.au

both windows are open - associates and amazon.com

do i have to use the American version for both?

Yes, I sign into amazon associates United States, search a product and when I click on the product page it shows the Amazon stripe at the top.

I also signed up with other Amazon countries and linked them to the US account via Amazon's "OneLink" tool. To my understanding this can monetize traffic from UK, Canada, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Japan etc. I'm yet to figure out how to include Australia.

Consider the OneLink option. You can put links to your primary amazon site (say the US) and it will redirect your foreign visitors to the same or closest product on the appropriate Amazon site, etc.

Yes I have done that for the 7 countries Onelink shows in its listing. But Australia isn't one of them.

Hmm... I'm not sure then.

thanks for the help guys ill try it out this afternoon. cheers

For any aussies out there, I've received confirmation that Amazon Australia doesn't have the image link option only text link.

try these settings https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/home/account/sitestripe

Hi greg, yes I already went through the account settings for sitestripe. I noticed their example picture only shows text link too so maybe it has changed? I'll have to contact them. thanks

Hi - its working fine for me. Have you actually selected a product itself, rather than just a department for example?

Yes, I go into Amazon Associates, product linking and choose a product from there. It takes me to the product page, where the site stripe is at the top but the only visual option is text link.

Very odd. I presume the product you are selecting does actually have an image? And it is in stock? Have you tried other products? I notice you are with Amazon Australia, but that shouldn't make any difference. Have you joined any of the other Amazon branches? .com or .co.uk? If so, I wonder if it works with those?

Yes, I've tried with various products - all in stock - and I've tried through different web browsers. Always the same result. I'm on Amazon Australia as that's what they made me sign up to. I'll see what I can do about another account and contact them. Thanks anyway.

Yes, it does appear that things have changed. My image links are grey until I select a product. Then they are active. Try selecting a product and see if your image and text-image links appear.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately I don't even have image links showing as greyed out. All I can see is text link. I'll have to contact Amazon (I'm just concerned they'll shut my account down because I haven't made any sales yet).

When I share a post on twitter, etc, it shows the feature picture as a small thumbnail with the post title beside it. I see when others share posts they have full-size images w

I think you have to upload the photo to Twitter and then ad the link.

Thanks Greg. I wanted to change the automated one so it'll be a bigger pic for anyone who shares the post direct from my website. No big deal, I think it's my share buttons interfering.

you have to upload the photo to Twitter

I had this same problem but, I found the problem in All In SEO.

Is your Twitter card image selected to the large image?

Like the image below. I hope this is all it is because I know how frustrating it was when I was trying to figure it out.

Thanks lakbar12, that's what I was looking for! I've made the change but it's still posting a small image. Do you know if it takes time to update? I'll check my theme too, coz I've adjusted feature picture size on my main page before, maybe this will make a difference (just got to remember how lol).

I am so sorry I got caught up in an article but, no I believe my image went through right away. I wonder if the social buttons are overriding the image from the AIO.

I know when I had social warfare buttons sometimes, they would override certain features in my theme.

You're right when adjusted the feature image sizes it could have affected the Twitter cards.

I can't think of anywhere else the issue would be. If I can think of any other place to look, I will let you know. I hope this issue gets resolved for you.

No worries, I appreciate the help. I think you're right, it might be my social sharing widget that's interfering (I have another website with a different share button that works correctly).

Yes, I think that’s what it is but the only way I knew for sure was I had to deactivate the plugin, then send out a tweet.

I Found this which might help, its a twitter validator that can help you see your image before making an actual tweet. Here is the website. https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator

and here is section on twitter that was talking about the images. i didnt find the answer in the article but it could be something that you still might want to look over.

https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/tweets/optimize-with-cards/overview/summary-card-with-large

Thanks lakbar12, you've been so helpful! The card validator is a great tool (I couldn't access the other link but I'll keep searching twitter anyway). Cheers

You’re welcome! I’m always happy to help. Cheers

You would normally add a feature image which would be used when sharing, although social sharing plugins will give you a choice of images to use before you share.

Make sure you have both these in place ... you can search social sharing plugins in the plugins area. and You featured image can be added on the edit page down on the right hand side.

You can create all your social images in a site called Canva.com

Trust this helps
Martin

Thanks Martin. I've already checked my social plugin and use a feature image, which it includes in the twitter post. But I haven't had any luck changing the size when it appears on Twitter. I'll keep trying.
