Feeling Discouraged, but Driving On
So lately I have been feeling a bit discouraged with this whole website endeavor. I'm not getting the traffic that I was hoping to get, and for somereason it doesn't seem like Google is indexing a lot of my articles. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong, but it is difficult to find out what.
Despite these setbacks, I'm trying to keep in perspective that I have only been doing this for about 2 months. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will this venture. I said that I am going to work on this for at least a year when I started, and that is what I am going to do.
Ah.... Now that I vented I feel a bit better. I hope everyone has a wonderful evening.

Definitely don't be discouraged! It does take time.
If you're wondering if there's something you need to do, perhaps review each of the rules for SEO against your articles and see if there's any tweaking you can do. I've seen others do that with great success.
Hi Colin. Thank you for your post and for your honest feelings. Please don't be discouraged after only 2 months. There's a general rule of thumb that most sites don't start to see traffic until about 6 months because you need to wait for Google to start to trust your site, your content and your engagement with others. So if you are following the training, and learning from the rest of the community, you are on the right track and good things are on the way. Stay positive, stay motivated and stay on course for changing your future - which is the reason you joined in the first place.
It WILL come. Have faith.

Thanks Gail! The video in particular did a great job of picking me back up. It's honestly something I already new however, Somedays you just hit that funk. I think I need to forget about that analytics page. Watching that thing is where all my woes started. lol!
I completely understand and I was the same! That's when I found the video so I'm glad it helped.
It's all there for us. We just need to be patient too. A business takes a while to establish.

The BIGGEST thing for beginners is to go check out the Blog Post Checklist video that Jay has created. It put me on the right path, and I have TONS of articles indexed. The key is to keep creating them in the end though and don't stop. If you need help feel free to reach out to me.
