DAY 73: 7 Self Care Tips For The Holiday (77 Day Challenge)

How do you take time out to recharge?

The idea of self care was something I did not understand and when i started building my business online, I tried catching up with everyone and I felt bad if i was not working 17 hours a day.

This led to burnouts and my health suffered a lot in my first year.

One thing we fail to realise is that building an online business should not be at the expense of our lives, health and taking care of ourselves

Also, When you take good care of yourself you are better positioned to give your best to your online business

That said, These are 7 Self care tips you should practice especially during this holiday season to recharge and get yourself ready for another 365 days

1. Get more sleep: I have talked on this a couple of times during this challenge and for good reason, without 7-8 hours of sleep, your brain is fatigued and you are not at your best,

Research says 1 in 3 adults don't get enough sleep and this is very dangerous to your health if you are one of those.

A good nights sleep is necessary to recharge and also a case can be made for power naps. If you feel tired and sleepy during the day, take a 20-30 minute nap. You'd wake up refreshed and enegised. I learnt the importance of power naps from Tai Lopez and it has worked wonders for me - try it

2. Eat better: You ae what you eat. You body uses what you eat as fuel and as such you should watch what goes into your body. Eat as much fruits as you can even though the holiday season offers lots of processed foods, watch how much of that you get into your system. You should also reduce your sugar intake. Your body will thank you for it.

3. Drink lots of water
: This is also important. The human body is made up of 60% water and you should always replenish it. You should avoid feeling dehydrated as you'd feel very tired and can a headache. Don't fall for this. This is a problem that you can easily avoid. Hydrate Hydrate hydrate

4. Connect with friends and Family:
Connect with your friends and family and talk about everything else asides the news and covid. We all know the mporatnce of friends and family considering the years we've had and time with them should not be spent talkning about the negatives but about good things and sharing a few laughs and hearty cheers

6. Exercise:
It paradoxical how working out can invigorate you with so much energy. On days I work out, I have so much energy for the rest of the day and you should try it too. Asides the energy woring out helps your brain produce new brain cells according to research. You want those brain cells working for you and for your business. It's a win win. Walk, Yoga, Jog, Dance - Find something that works for you and move your body.

7. Put down your phone:
Phubbing is the act of pressing your phone while someone is talking to you. We spend too much time on our phones (I am watching myself on this now) and hardly pay attention to those around us. Be conscious when you have people around you and listen to them. Give them your full attention when you are being spoken to. it can mean the world to them and you learn more and grow as a result

- Do nothing! Learn to be bored
