DAY 70: The One Consistency Trap to Avoid ( 77 Day Challenge )
Everyone knows by now the importance of being consistent to achieve any goal
Want to lose weight...
Want to get fit...
Want to make money online...
Want to transform your life...
Anything worthwhile requires consistency
But here's the thing... When you set a goal to be consistent and do something daily, there is a common trap that can make you give up
Missing One Day...
This is a common trap that can derail you and when this happens, your brain can trick you into stopping altogether
We know that no one is perfect and yet we expect that from ourselves.
When you miss a day it is easy to want to give up altogether. You forget all the days you showed up and put in work. You start rationalizing and looking for a way to quit
one day becomes two, two days become a week and you can easily forget why you started in the first place
This should not be so...
The solution...
If you set a daily challenge and miss a day, you should not use that as an opportunity to quit but you can reframe it and continue.
it doesn't matter how many times you fail but how many times you get up.
for the past two days, I missed writing on this challenge after 69 days of consistency. I thought about ending it here but I have fallen for this trap so many times in the past that right now I don't even feel bad for missing those two days(
Life got in the way and I could not write here(I wrote on other platforms and guest blogged). it would have been easy to give up but like I said I had fallen for this trap before and I did not allow my brain to rationalize and make me quit.
What you should do...
To avoid the consistency trap, You should purposely miss a day of anything you want to do daily and continue the next day as if nothing happened. This way, you can consciously practice for when life gets in the ways and see a reason to bounce back
Another thing I did to bounce back was to reset a mini-challenge. As it is, this challenge should end on the 28 but now, it ends on the 31 - the last day of the year.
Now I have another reason to stay focused for the rest of the challenge
In all, I am telling you to never give up if you fail once, think of all the times you showed up
Life can get in the way and you might have to take care of something else, that should not stop you from pursuing your goals and knocking them out of the park consistently
I hope this helps
