,Try to remember back as far as you can. What is the youngest age that you have distinct, detailed memories. Do you remember the games you played, they were made up games with no real rules. You were only limited by your imagination and when you were that young you had very few rules to limit you. In your mind there wasn't anything you couldn't do. Try to remember those precious days when you were playing with blocks and you could build an empire or when Mom gave you some rubber balls and you learned to roll them and before long you were rolling them at the speed of light. You could do those things because no one told you you couldn't. Can you remember how you felt the first time someone, an adult or teenager, told you that what you thought you were doing was impossible. You can't roll those balls at the speed of light, everyone knows that. What's wrong with you you dumb little kid. You were devistated and your world crumbled and you learned not to ask adults questions because their answers could destroy large parts of your kingdom. Can you remember going to bed at night. It didn't matter if the lights were on or off, out there in the dark recesses of your room all sorts of creatures were busy doing what creatures do, at least in your imagination. I remember going to bed in the basement, I was the oldest kid so I was all alone and the lights went off. As my eyes adjusted to the dark, it was amazing the things I could see. I wanted to explore the rest of the basement but I wasn't allowed to walk around after bedtime so how could I explore. I would stand up at the foot of my bed and slowly push off and I was floating in the air. I could make myself move in different directions by moving my arms and legs. Soon I was exploring the whole basement and a little while latter I could leave the basement, explore the whole house and eventually I could fly out of the house and over the roof. God it was fun. One day I told my uncle all about it and he said, what's the matter with you kid, people can't fly. I looked up at him and said what do you mean I can't fly. In ten minutes the greatest experience of my life was destroyed by an adult. I never flew again because now I couldn't. How many things that are possible are made impossible by the so called knowledge of the dreaded adult. I wonder.
