How To Create What You Desire
HOW TO CREATE WHAT YOU DESIRE
1. Visualize the event you desire to be successful at e.g. business, career/job, relationships etc.
Do this twice a day for 5 minutes for 30 days. Your subconscious mind responds to images, sounds and feelings. This is so important. You gradually convince yourself you be successful. This is a proven technique used by Olympic athletes to boost their performance.
2. Think of a time when things worked out for you or went well. Think of your achievements.
3. Practice relaxing 15 minutes daily. Also spend 5 minutes performing muscle relaxing techniques- you focus on slowly tensing and then relaxing each muscle group-before bed. This helps focus on the 'right brain' and quietens the mind. Without going into too much detail regarding Left brain/Right brain theory (developed by the American psycho-biologist Roger W. Sperry in the late 1960s) the “left brain” can be considered rather objective, focusing on logic and analytics, the “right brain” is more subjective, emotional and intuitive. By quietening the Right brain, we give it a chance to relax and re-charge. This theory will be covered in a later post.
Try to take most weekends off for family/relaxation time. Most successful entrepreneurs put family/me time first.
4. Be confident and use positive affirmations in the morning , such as 'I will be successful' , 'I'm the master of my destiny' or 'I'm capable of living a very successful life'.
5. Be in the present of 'now', let go of the past. When at work, focus on being in the 'now' not socialising or taking long breaks
6. What is your USP (Unique Selling Point) in your business? What do you offer that nobody else does? What is your competitive advantage? What separates you from other businesses in your niche? How successful are you in using the 4 P's (a term first used by the marketer E. Jerome McCarthy)?
The 4 P's- place, price, product, and promotion can be used in your business.
Place- How will you reach your customers?
Price- What market are you after and at what price?
Product- what product or service are you offering?
Promotion- what are the methods that you use to promote your product or service?
7. How are you packaging yourself i.e your personal appearance/ dress sense? You are a brand so you should also be updating your knowledge, experience and if possible improve your qualifications on a continual basis. Think of the Beckhams! The Beckham brand has a global appeal online and offline.
8. Who do you want to be in a year from now? What's your purpose in life? Name two of your top talents. Write a statement about what you want to do and how you will use your talents. Get a vision board! Put dream pictures on it of your dream home, car, holiday etc. Then visualise yourself having already attained them. Finally, write down these goals and what you are going to do to achieve them.

Chrissy's, thanks for this. In another life, which means before I retired, I was employed as a Strategic Planning and Policy Officer. I use to joke with my children that my job was to put my legs up on my desk and dream where my Organisation needed to go to deliver on government policy. What you have put together here incorporates some of the training I received in order to dream, visioning, objectives, goal setting, strategies and priority setting. I could go on but I think everyone should make note of this blog. Also as a former athlete I know about the visioning and relaxation techniques you mentioned. Fantastic
