Creating Videos for YouTube

I made my first YouTube video today. I admit- at first, I was nervous to do it, which is kind of ironic. Along with English and Communications, I used to teach theater.

I mean I've performed or spoken before thousands of people. I've even tap danced before over 5,000 people (I take a daddy/ daughter dance class with my daughters). Yet, this is something on a whole other level.

I mean- it's YouTube. Almost 2 billion people use it. Did you know that 300 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute?

That's a huge audience!

Also, that's great potential.

And, it seems everyone is doing it. You know you've seen some sketchy videos on there. I know I have.

Yet, it still thrives. And, it works.

Creating a YouTube Channel to your website will:

• Create more useful content
• Generate more traffic to your website
• Build your brand- connect your YouTube channel to our Facebook Page, Instagrm account, Twitter account and back to your website
• YouTube ranking is instantaneous- my video showed up in the second spot right after creating it for the keywords I used to create the video title, description, and content.
• Promote your affiliate links
• Show rather than tell

As you can see, there's so many reasons why you should create YouTube videos.

And, really only one reason you probably don't. If you're like me, then it's fear.

All of those negative thoughts like what if I look or sound stupid? What if no one watches? What if they hate it?

But, think about it for a moment. You're already putting yourself out there. You have your own website where you create content as yourself.

Your own thoughts already exist on the internet.

Why not take the next step and move from your written words to your video?

After all, 81% of marketers use video these days.

So, YouTube is just one more way to compete.
