Well it will be nice to see what you are talking about but I think if you do the following that should fix the problem.
In your dashboard:
Go under settings----select reading
Under reading settings – front page displays, select your latest posts. I am guessing the front page displays is set to static which might be why the images are there.

You can find this in WordPress setting under appearance-customize. in your dashboard , you will be able to edit it there
It depends upon your theme, it probably is located somewhere until the Appearance settings of the Theme. You will just have to search for the text box you're wishing to edit by going through the Customize menu under Appearance.
