Becoming an Online Entreprenaveller
Three weeks ago when I joined WA, I was looking for some sort of unique term that might support my story, create some momentum online and provide an opportunity to generate income.
If you follow me, you'll understand that I am a proud member of a travelling family. 18 months ago my wife and I hit rock bottom and became the victim of other peoples need to justify their own existence through the destruction of others hard work.
Off the back of this and a lot of soul searching we threw caution to the wind and sold everything we owned, bought a motor home, took our kids out of school and set off travelling Europe for a year. Almost instantly we knew we had found our true
life. Days filled with sun, laughter, new experiences, sights and cultures. It broadened our horizons and strengthened our desire to be world citizens.
This realisation bought its own problems, how do we keep this lifestyle going, our money was finite. You can read more of our story at www.travellingfamilyblog.com, if your interested.
Anyway back to the reason for this blog. I was looking for a term that would encapsulate our travelling life with the desire to make money online to keep that lifestyle going.
After much humming and haaing, I came up with Online Entreprenaveller. It speaks for itself, its a bastardisation of Entrepreneur and Traveller. I like it. (not looking for validation from the community on this term)
So I set about creating my website, www.makemoneyonthemove.siterubix.com ( soon to become just .com). It carries the strap line "Becoming an Online Entreprenaveller"
I set about creating a Twitter account for Makemoneyonthemove (@mmoneyonthemove) and every post carries the #onlineentreprenaveller. I set up a facebook page and share the same content and # and I set up a google+ account as well.
Three weeks ago if you typed in Online Entreprenaveller there was nothing to match it.
My next step was to write a series of blogs outlining my journey in becoming an Online Entreprenaveller and I have published 3 blogs to date through the website and then cross posted on all of the other platforms.
This has resulted in two things. I'm on first page of google if you search make money on the move and all four of my feeds ( website, FB, Twitter and G+) come up if you type in Online Entreprenaveller. This was not happening 2 or even 1 week ago.
I haven't concentrated too strongly on keywords in my content, but I have been religious on keeping the term Online Entreprenaveller in my content. I do this through the title, first paragraph and then at the end of the blog as I promote the next blog.
I am very pleased with these development, although unsurprised by the google results for online entreprenaveller, as I am the only one using it at the moment. But I think the process of developing my own keywords or phrase has provided a platform to get on in google rankings. I certainly didn't expect to be on the first page for months.
Thanks for reading.
Chris
