A loss of momentum creates a gain in perspective
This week the kids have been home from school. This means the balancing act of weekly school routine Vs WA plays second place to spending quality time with the kids as we fill our days with trips and trivialities that make us learn, laugh and smile.
This change in priorities brings an inevitable slowing of momentum with my website, social media and learning agenda.
Three weeks into my WA journey and I was pleased with my progress, two websites created, 6 pages and several posts on each, both moved to '.com' domains and indexed by google, 100 followers on my main sites' twitter account and a good level of reach on both my FB fan pages. Plus my first WA referral - things felt like they were all moving in the right direction - I could feel a real shift in momentum.
Productivity can be addictive and sometimes my well used mantra of 'getting on with getting on' can feel like I am wading through tasks with great aplomb. However, there comes a time when you just need to stop doing and start reviewing, so you can gain some much needed perspective.
That's exactly what I have been doing this week. Looking at where I am, where I want to be and how I am going to get there.
A list of aims and objectives has been drafted and re -drafted. The required actions have been listed and prioritised. November's Gantt chart is up and in plain view. I feel ready for the period from Monday to the end of November.
So from a point when my lack of productivity could have derailed either my current mood of contentment with WA progress or seriously affected precious time with my family, I have managed to gain a perspective on the coming weeks and keep myself motivated in this essential period of down time.

So true and believable, I'm in a similar situation with family and life.
The planning of everyday when so much needs to be done, is a great help in the right direction.
Taking time to reflect and stand back and breathe does put a lot of things into perspective.
Cheers Tosh ;)
You're most welcome.
Yes indeed we are and I'm a hopeless juggler, but musically I'm ok on stage lol ;)

I wish I felt as energized as you. Today was another day of "giving to needy people". Now I need to catch up!
