Affiliate Marketing
When I think about building an online business, it sounds good in theory but, its more complicated than it sounds. Affiliate Marketing is what most people say is the way to go, and it's advertised everywhere on the internet. They give classes and all types of training to make affiliate marketers of each person interested in becoming a business owner via the internet. Selling merchandise that someone else or other companies promote, and sell even at large profits can be very lucrative if you don't care about what you want to sell, there are some products that might agree or line up with your way of thinking and there's BUT! in there, do you believe in the product, have you tried the product, does it really work and what about the side effects.
Online business to me is selling your own products and there's that BUT!! But you don't have a product, you aren't an inventor of anything remotely interesting and you don't have the money to produce a product and promote it or test the market, to some that kills the dream and they return to working for someone else for minimum wages or wages that don't fit what they are really worth.
I started with WA because I like to write and it has improved my skills tremendously. I've learned how to build or create my own website and get it running by placing articles I've written on it even a blog, I did the lessons all the way up to choosing an affiliate site to promote and there was a wall that stopped me, I don't want to sell other peoples / companies products. So here I am at some cross road and I don't know where I am, where to turn even which direction I need to choose to continue. NOW!! I really need help to make the right decision, I need my own product or one I can say I really can promote. Well it seems I am still learning WA's ways so Well it seems I am not confident as maybe I should be, here's that BUT again Well it seems I am reading a lot of comments from people who's been with WA a long time even they are complaining about their lack of success in marketing.
Well it seems I am lost can some shed some light on this subject please?

Hi, Ronald thank you for sharing your thoughts, you are at a crossroads for sure and it is one that many of us come to or not for that matter.
I guess you could call this your line in the sand, affiliate marketing is just that selling others products. It is a really good way to get into the industry, in order to do just that we need to learn the skill set that will enable us to do that. The thing about WA is that it not only provides the knowledge but also the resources to make it possible for us to just that.
At the end of the day to make money online or offline we have to sell or trade something most folks go for selling their time for money if we want something that will return more then we need to look at alternatives, not only that we need to keep them in our focus all the time.
We learn new skills by default here in WA you said that you have learned how to create websites, it is a short step to look at doing websites for others that is a service product that many here at WA could turn there hand to and there is plenty of extra training outside the course curriculum that covers much of this, Jay has done some excellent webinars on the subject.
One of the things that you could do is to pick up agency licenses for software, an agency is that you can sell them as your own product. In the MMO niche, there are product launches almost daily if you follow that market there will be plenty of vendors offering such opportunities.
I am not sure of your niche, but some folks create digital information products around their areas of interest ebook or PDF and proceed to sell them.
There are also opportunities to create e-commerce stores there are many platforms and software that make this possible. So you can either deal in digital products or physical products.
The thing is that if we are in business we have to sell something or we are not in business. So I develop a shop selling telescopes, for instance, I don't make them nor do I handle them, the term in the industry is drop shipping, my product is bringing sellers and buyers together if that makes sense.
The same is that if I create a website promoting WA, my product is presenting a knowledge learning opportunity that gives people the resources to enable them to create an online business. Once again my business is bringing buyers and sellers together. That is my product.
I think I can pick up on the inner theme of your post, it is something that we all go through, we are putting in the work but not seeing any results, we kind of end up in this no man's land we have knowledge but even applying it doesn't seem to work no matter what we do.
The turning point for me was the realization that I had to know what I was selling or promoting it was irrelevant if it was my product or not, what mattered is that I knew and I knew what benefits it would bring to the buyer, because if we do not know what we are selling or the benefits how in the heck is our potential audience or customers going to be able to fill in the gaps.
One of the interesting things about the buy-sell game is that half of the time the customer is not sure what they are looking for, wanting or needing, in retail I think that is why in old-school terms we have shop assistants.
Hope that you work through this, every day I say to my self what am I selling, what am I selling and if I don't the follow-on is why am I not selling why am I not selling.
Just sharing some personal; thoughts they seem to keep me on track. When I am stuck I go back and go over things time and time again just in case I missed it on the way through, that kind of works as well.

The point of the spear to attack this is Amazon! There are other options from share a sale to Shopify and beyond!
