I sit at my computer, bleary-eyed & with my first chai of the day. I used to log into my favorite MMO first thing (yes, I am an unrepentant gamer) but now I'm here.

GOOD MORNING!

I accomplished quite a bit this weekend. Finished the first training course here, set up my website, wrote (& re-wrote, then re-wrote, then edited, then scratched, then re-wrote) my first article on that website. I'm supposed to submit it for feedback, but I'm really nervous about that. When I make things it's like a piece of my soul goes into it; it's like my child. I have to get over that but so much of my work in life has been met with so much critisism & usually not the 'constructive' type.

So nervous, but I'll do it.

Also supposed to comment on a few others. Nervous about that as well. I want to be helpful, I want to give critisism with a firm but gentle hand & help everyone create the best website with the best content I can... but I hate hurting feelings, or being misunderstood, which is so easy in a text-based world.

Full disclosure: I have anxiety/depression. So all of this 'new' stuff is making alarms go off in my head, though I really enjoy being out of my comfort zone as well. I do things that make myself uncomfortable, challenge myself because if it were up to my brain I would just sit at home looking out at the world, feeling guilty about not doing anything but not really feeling motivated to do anything.

No, I am not nervous about sharing my flaws with people. We all have flaws, mine just have names assigned to them. Names can help, or hurt. I've experienced plenty of both. I'm not shamed by those labels anymore; only I can shame myself at this point.

SO! Once I get a chance I will be coming to someone's website & commenting *today*. I've decided & I will do it. I wonder who it will be? Now I'm excited!

Perhaps (if you've made it this far through my wall of text) you should make at least one goal, one step toward success & do it. Something you're nervous about. Decide & do it.

We'll make it a challenge. Tell me what it is & how you accomplished it below if you'd like! I'd love to hear your challenges & how you succeeded.

Have wonderful day!

Hi Cat, fantastic write-up and I admire your candor. I can empathise with everything you have said. Looks like you've got handle on things though. Keep doing what you're doing. Small steps and pacing yourself so as to not to become overwhelmed and end up doing nothing. I love that you are up for going 'Outside of your comfort zone' that is how we grow but is at the same time unnerving. I look forward to seeing you succeed. Be Well.

Thank you. The hardest thing is pacing when I'm excited; I appreciate the reminder. I look forward to your success as well: every step forward is a step in the right direction, no matter how small.

Hi Cat, very nice post here. When I started playing football in high school the coaches preached, " Go through trouble, not around it". That certainly applies here at WA. My challenge is to simply write this review of WA in the Bootcamp training. I've been thinking about and organizing it for some time now. Got to JUST DO IT!

Cal

Thank you for your encouragement & I'll send some your way:
You can accomplish anything you set your mind to. It sounds like you've been preparing & now it is time. You can do it!

Thanks Cat
