Brake-Indicators!

The car in front brakes and I brake too to avoid collision. We know when to brake our car, like stopping at the red traffic light, at a stop sign, or the traffic flow is slowing down. How about in life, do we know when to brake? Being aware and knowing the signal to take “brakes” in our life is not as straightforward as driving a car and adhering to traffic rules.

I live and work in the same place. As a home-keeper with cooking responsibilities, a care-giver, and a novice venturing into affiliate marketing, the tasks-to-do are endless. And there is no time schedule to follow. Unlike a 9-to-5 job where office hours and work location are clear-cut, boundaries become fuzzy. Sometimes I would feel like I am on a 24/7 standby mode.

Perhaps I am a workaholic or maybe I have poor time management skills. I fail to see indicators like the red traffic light to decelerate. Instead I use physical tiredness to slow down my work flow. It seem neither an efficient nor effective 'brake-signal'. I ponder … …. And I wonder what is your brake-indicators to avoid burnout?

I have a pretty set bedtime (except date night on Saturdays) that I adhere to, otherwise I'm dragging the next day and I just can't get anything done. But I'm also still working a 9-5, so I have that schedule to help. I take a half hour of my lunch to eat and watch Netflix and then the second half is business time before I have to go back to my real job.

Thank you for sharing. Me too, I have to remind myself to adhere to my bedtime too.
Cheers, Cheng

I do find it difficult to walk away from work however a break does do you good and I make sure I take time out and twice a year at least go away and the places I go to have limited internet, I also turn my notifications off and will just have one hour at breakfast time to go over work matters

I think it's a good idea by setting the amount of time (like 1 to 2 hours) to put in for the work. Then turn off the computer for the day.

I have to turn off the computer an hour before my intended bedtime, at all costs. Otherwise, the tireder I get the more wound up about what I'm trying to accomplish and the less I end up actually achieving! For me, if I'm gonna be tired and working then it's better to get up early and do it then, when the tiredness won't lead to a restless night and the work is more productive.

Yes, I find myself more productive after an early night sleep and getting up early.
Thank you for sharing.
Cheers, Cheng
