ok so, I want to create a site in which I have no inventory on hand, meaning I want to provide a service rather than a product. Is that possible? Guns and gun accessories are my passion I am just not sure how to proceed with that idea. Please help!

Not a bad idea for a future prospect but for now I would like to boost my income and knowledge base before I'm to be considered an expert. I know a lot but not enough, that's kind of why I would like to be immersed in the field a bit longer before committing to consulting and product knowledge is the best way I know how to learn. Learn by doing and excel through on the job training

Understood, you know us Americans and our guns lol. I'm former military and have fought in both Iraq and Afghanistan, additionally it was my Job to fix and outfit all weapons and chemical defensive equipment so I at least have a decent idea of what I'm working with I just need the know how to make the idea become cash. You have been a great help!

Your in a good position Chad, how about becoming a consultant to firms looking for your specialist knowledge?

I'm looking to start with little or no cash and work up to wholesale buy/sell scenarios. Ideally referral commissions would make up the primary revenue but I just Don't know how.

Type your keyword in to Google + affiliate program ie "gun accessories affiliate programs" that will bring up companies. You don't invest in any stock you will get a commission if the customer buys from them. I live in the UK nobody has guns so it's difficult for me to know.

Guns themselves are hard, it requires expensive licenses and I'm not looking to gain overhead just yet so that may point me toward assault rifle accessories, now back to the "mark" do I mark up items from the existing store or can it be based on commissions directly from the site?

it usually means the supplier sells wholesale and you sell it retail so you need to be competitive with your pricing. Do you need a license when all you are doing is pointing the customer to the supplier who does everything else and you get a commission for that lead.

As far as drop shipping... Say the item is $99 from Rutgers website, do I mark it up and re route the item?

Never thought of it like that. So I can't make money opening a forum and selling advertisement slots?

A forum is hard work answering peoples questions and dealing with the muppets. A dvd on gun care or selling someone elses guns sounds easier to me :)

No inventory means dropshipping or an affiliate program. A service could mean producing an ebook or a video on gun care and selling that as a digital download.
