Still Riding Strong

Oh my, the last year has been a WILD ride.

I just purchased a Premium membership for the second time and read my last WA blog, "Tribute to Myself." How unbelievable! All the things I imagined happening after posting it turned out completely different than I expected. I was afraid to read it, imagining that I would be disappointed in all the things I didn't accomplish, but I'm actually feeling more determined.

Why? Because I know my life is HUGELY different now than it was the last time I logged into WA. And now that I'm back I'll allow myself to divulge so I can return when I need a reminder of how far I've come!

Before my "success" story I was:

• Working yet another sh*tty job for a bully of a boss who couldn't communicate, respect me, pay me correctly, or keep track of his own rear end (/end rant).
• Trying to scrounge funds for my trip abroad and my apartment (the fifth and sixth residential moves I had to make in under a year)
• Fighting anxiety...
• ...and lower grades than I have ever earned before.
• Recovering from a breakup
• Still recovering from the shock of nearly losing my father in a violent incident...
• and then losing an uncle...
• Kidding myself that I could handle ALL of these things at the same time without breaking down.

Now I:

• Have the best two part-time jobs I imaginable, where I am respected and accounted for as an employee and a person...
• Live in an apartment with one of my best friends.
• Am taking on a lighter course load so I can focus on restoring my GPA and staying on track with my degree.
• Have a new nephew and a bunch of pretty healthy relatives.
• Have an incredible overseas experience to talk about
• ...and I can talk about it in Italian
• Invest more time with honest people who inspire and appreciate me
• Don't sweat it when bad things happen, because I removed myself from people and situations that brought me down and I'm still moving forward!

And now I'm ready for another wild ride, although I hope this one is more enjoyable!
