How To Track Traffic More Accurately
I wanted to share a technique with ya'll that I learned which helps you track traffic more accurately with Google Analytics. If you haven't done this technique then every time you go on your website to edit, check a link, etc. Google Analytics is counting your views into the mix of the overall views. Basically, it's making it seem like you have more views than you really do. To change that though is easy. These steps will exclude your IP address from showing up on the traffic. First, once you log into Google Analytics, you want to click "Admin" in the top left. Second, on the left hand side menu there will be a button that says "All Filters", click that. From there you go to "Filter Type" > "Predefined" > "Select Filter Type" > "Exclude" > "Select Source or Destination" > "Traffic from the IP Address" (you can find your IP address by visiting whatismyipaddress.com) > Enter your IP address you find into the bar that pops up > "Select Expression" > "That Are Equal To". And that is how you exclude your computer from showing up on the traffic results and help yourself to get more accurate traffic readings. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!
