My Experience with Empower Network

I saw someone mention Empower Network in a blog post recently and I have a little experience with that company myself so I just wanted to share a few of my own thoughts.

I really couldn't tell you what year it was that I joined EN but it's been a few years now (3-4 maybe). I also couldn't tell you exactly how I found out about them. I've been looking into making money online for at least 10 years now and I've looked at a lot of different things over that time and so I probably just stumbled upon them during that search.

I would have to say that there were two primary things that drew me to Empower when I was first introduced to them: blogging and the start up fee. I can't say that I LOVE to write but I have thoughts that I would like to express and believe are important and I just see blogging in general as a cool thing to do. The base membership was only $25 which is very cheap in this market to get into something with some decent training.

One thing that was made real to me during my time with EN was the possibilities of an online business with a blog. I really began to see that if I'm ever going to do anything online it's going to have to be with a blog or at least begin that way. I've tried a few other more face to face type of "work at home" businesses but those things just didn't fit my personality. I always felt like I was bugging people.

I felt like what I got for my $25 was a good deal (blog platform and some training) but I could quickly tell it wouldn't be enough. There are a lot of up-sells in the company and the first one was the $100 inner circle. I knew I needed more so I went ahead and upgraded to that membership.

Really, at no time in my adult life could I have afforded to just throw away $100 a month and it didn't take long to begin to feel like I was.

David Wood would always say in his videos and messages that you have to "get all in". What he meant by that was that you needed to purchase all the upgraded products if you were really going to be serious about the business.

This is where I kind of started heading the other way. I just kind of felt like, if $100 a month isn't enough to get the "good stuff" or at least the majority of the things I needed to know I wasn't willing to fork about $1500 or more.

Everybody has a price I guess you can say and $100 was mine. I never appreciated feeling like I never really had what I needed to be successful and that the main things I needed were being withheld from me.

This post isn't really about Wealthy Affiliate but the biggest draw for me here is that for $49 a month I feel like I'm getting so much more information that can actually help me be successful for A LOT less of the money and I'm never being told I need to "get all in".

In probably 6 months or so with Empower Network I referred one guy into the business, which actually happened through a Craigslist ad and not my blog.

I really do think you can be successful with it (if your willing to "get all in") but I just felt like there should be something else out there that doesn't cost as much to get some good quality information on starting and being profitable with a blog.
