Thanks MyJobKiller, I have tried myself to leave a my details with no comment and it won't allow it, and my autoresponder goes to GVO at the moment.
LiseER glad I am not the only one. Have tried googling but not found an answer, other than some people may have something set up in their browser address bar. It's like the flood gates opened one day and they keep coming. Good to keep us updating regularly but baffling. To get wordpress.com help you have to be a paid upgrade. If I find out will let you know :)
I have the same problem. I was wondering why I didn't have any subscribers trough my Aweber Account and then I saw that I have 7 subscribers on WordPress under users. I have no Idea how they got there. Its so wired. Did you figure out how? I have checked all over my website and I can't figure out how they managed to subscribe without it being registered on Aweber.
Best,
Lise
For someone to subscribe to your blog you have to have an auto-responder set up ,if you did not set up an auto-responder, it could be a plug-in you have set up on your blog or something to do with the way they are leaving comments in that area of comments section.
Hope that helps ..

WordPress blogs have RSS feeds built in. They don't really tell you that but for anyone who knows this, subscribing to your blog is quite simple. They will need an RSS reader - I use the one that comes with Microsoft Outlook. In the 'Account Settings' go to the RSS tab and enter the website you want to subscribe to followed by the proper feed. For example http://blogsite.com/feed/RSS. Then add the mail directory where you want your feed notifications to go to. Now, any new post on that site will send a message to your RSS mail directory. That's all there is to it.

Thanks John. So clear now :) Really appreciate you picking up an old post to explain it.
