Solutions for the Last-Minute or Crisis Procrastinator
Last-Minute or Crisis Procrastinators are people who will delay things to the VERY last minute because they just love the feeling of an adrenaline rush. They use stress as a motivator! They put things off by saying that they work best under pressure, but in the end, often find it impossible to complete their work. Even if they do, they will not be able to complete it with their maximum potential.
If you’re a Last minute or Crisis Procrastinator, the first thing you want to do is STOP thinking that tomorrow you will just wake up to be a different person WITHOUT working on your mindset!!
STOP believing that tomorrow you will be more motivated, have more time, or be more focused. Afterall, if you look at your past performance, it’s absolutely clear that will not happen at least 85% of the time. ☺️
Sit down and dig deep to find out WHY you constantly do this. If you don’t know your root cause, it may be difficult to break this habit, but here is a checklist of 5 things you can do.
- At the end of each day, identify your tasks and activities for the following day. Select the most important task you will work on.
- YOU MUST start the day with the most important task first—no matter how difficult it is.
- Block time in your calendar in the morning. Don’t sit at your computer and begin scrolling emails and social media. These are rabbit holes of distraction you do not want to enter!!
- Starting with your top priority task may be challenging especially if it is a difficult one. It can be tempting to want to move on to the easy tasks and responding to emails, BUT DON’T DO IT!!!
- Break it down into smaller pieces and the steps in each piece.
For those that think this is too much work, I guess you love that adrenaline rush too much, but I encourage you to try it out. I guarantee that it will help your business.
You can do this!!!
☺️☺️
