Adsense, Finally!

So after 4-5 months of waiting for Adsense to approve my site, they finally did! Before I look at it in depth, I was wondering if you all had any suggestions as to where to put my ads? Obviously the front page, but what about posts, reviews? or should I refrain from doing so, as that would distract them from my content?

Thank you for any and all advice!

Keep focusing on content. Most of the time in the top work the best.

I will, and I agree. You are right!

Wow....this business requires a lot of patience. Congratulations!

I will, thank you!

I place the ads in sidebar widgets on my site. This way they show up on every page where the sidebar is present, with the exception of the home page (no sidebar).

I know it was a long wait. It took a while for me as well. Congratulations!

3

Thank you, it is well worth the wait! When you place them in the widgets, what widget do you use, just HTML?

2

I use text widgets...just don't forget to choose the "text" tab and not the "visual tab" in the widget itself. Paste your code and click save.

Okay, the Adsense rule says to place it after <head> or <body> , do I need to write that in?

Hi,

This is the tutorial I followed to place the Adsense ad codes on my site. This training by Cheryl (Chez Brown) is very good and extremely clear.

Awesome, thank you so much!

Congrats on your being approved!

Thank you!

You will find that Google has requirements about where they should be placed, such as 'above the fold' and not on sites that go against their policies. (you know, no hate sites, no sites that talk bad about them, etc.)

I would place them on every page where you are promoting your products.

You can also include a separate page just for these ads as kind of a way to focus on them.

What you DO NOT want to do is design your entire site around them; That may make them happy but it bugs the heck out of visitors!

2

Okay, thank you! My site is the opposite of any negativity, so I think it should be fine:)
I would like to just put them on a few main pages, as well as my reviews. Thank you for the tips!
