Will we ever fully understand how to incorporate low competition keywords?
Hi guys,
I just wrote a post that, after doing my keyword searches, had only one competitive page and over 200 searches per month.
I thought I would be on the first page for sure! To my disappointment, I landed on page 4 of google. This was after writing the post in the same manner as some of my other posts that are ranked on page 1...
Now obviously, this makes me a bit negative and makes me wonder if I will ever get the hang of this keyword searches and Google.
How are you guys doing out there and where did you manage to escape the struggle in terms of months?
ps. My site is 3.5 months old.
Regards,
Cj

Wow - congrats on finding a keyword with 200 searches and only 1 competitive page! Do you mean the QSR is 1? If you just wrote the article, maybe it will take a little time to rank. Does your article have any comments yet? If not, that might help, too.
Alyssa
Hi AlyssaBaron,
Yes, the QSR is 1. Yes, maybe I should give it time, but I was able to rank immediately with one of my previous posts.
I will also try and get some cooments with the comments feature, thank you.

Did you put your keyword as part of your title and so as part of your URL?
It pays to do this.
Robert
Has it been indexed yet and if not do it manually instead of replying on the search engines.
Robert
Yes, it has been indexed as well...maybe it is because my website is still relatively "young"?
Ok and you have submitted your Sitemap as well.
If you have done all these things then as you say you're site is young but on the other hand if you have had previous articles indexed and ranked what's the problem with this one.
Maybe you should take a look at your Analytics.
Robert
Thank you Robert for the help.
I still have a lot to learn about the analytics aspect. At the moment my main focus is to get as much as possible content out there.

Just a follow-up.
I just wrote a new article with 96 searches and 66 competition and I ranked 2 on page 1 of Google?!
Just shows you. You never know what Google will do.
