Why does International Women's Day matter?

A United Nation's message - the He for She campaign.

What it means to me.

We remain women in a man's world where no business organization has an equal number of women compared to men at the top. We can change that, together.

Having worked in the medical field and in the surgical arena. Once entirely a man's world where women were not encouraged to join them at the surgical table let alone in their medical schools.

My mentors helped me reach the top of my career ladder in Surgical Technology and in the Neurosciences.

One man - who led me into the field of Trauma and introduced me to each surgeon in every specialty. He helped the She surgeon. The art of surgery became my world too.

One woman - who was a pioneer admit into one of the first medical schools. She helped me and all women in medicine recognize how powerful knowledge and integrity are in the art of medicine. She helped all physicians and surgeons equally.

We all have one brain. We all have the potential to reach our dreams.

We all can learn and achieve our dreams. The art of learning and teaching.

May every man and woman in the WA community achieve their dreams, their way.
