Feels Like I Hit A Roadblock

I am not sure if I missed it along the line but I could not find where it says to open a business social media account/profile or to just keep it a personal account.
I don't do much outside of Facebook and I am not savvy with social media anyway so this is a learning experience for me. Feels like I hit a roadblock. Anyway I created a business page on my personal Facebook account. Same with Pinterest. Was it necessary, or did I even do the right thing? Somehow it feels like I messed up.
