(WA) Certified Commenters Wanted
At the beginning of March, I began my journey to become a Certified Commenter. This was in response to the low quality Site Comments and Site Feedback I had received and the other similar sentiments that I have encountered.
In my effort to learn how to do this well, I have done some training and referred to Site Comments made by other Members.
After completing only 7 Site Comments, I have made some observations that may be helpful. Please correct me if I have gotten anything wrong with the process and what is required.
1. Be Ready For Site Comments.
When requesting Site Comments for your website, ensure tat your site is ready to receive those comments. Given that we have an excellent spelling and grammar checker at WA, I do not expect to have to make frequent comments about either.
The editing of pages and posts should be completed before requesting site comments. If your site is not grammatically and structurally ready to receive comments, you will benefit little from the request made.
2. Do Not Plagiarise.
Once I am doing Site Comments, I DO Site Comments. That means, although I might have an interest in your topic, I may not know the specifics about the product or service your content is based on. If that happens, I will do some research.
In researching for one requested Site Comment, I came across someone else's content that was so similar I had to go back and forth to make sure it was not the same author.
If content is taken from somewhere, do quote your source.
3. Visual Ease Is Important.
Giving Site Comments is helping me as a visitor and buyer. I approach it with those eyes and look for engagement and persuasiveness from the writer. I ask myself: Would I buy this product or service? Do trust the writer/seller? Do I feel welcomed in this space?
In my opinion, those are the outcomes that we are looking for with our online businesses.
To achieve this, visual ease is important. Pay attention to fonts, depth of colour, headings for definition and organisation and use of imagery, video, etc.
All provide an effective and memorable customer experience.
4. Learn To Be A Commenter
Becoming a Certified Commenter will definitely help you with your online business. With all communication there is giving and receiving. To be good at one role, it helps to perform in the other. In the same way that we learn to be good verbal or written communicators, it will benefit you and our Community of you work towards becoming a Certified Commenter.
With hundreds of thousands of us here pushing out content every day, we surely need more support for comments on our content to help us with our rankings and traffic.
I really like the pay-it-forward aspect of WA and would like to see many more people getting involved. I know that I need a lot of support and help in this are for my content and I would like to know that we have competent people participating.
5. Become Trusted and Respected
To become a Certified Commenter, you must complete 50 Site Comments. I am 14% there. In addition, you are required to maintain a comment approval of 80% or more. My current rating is 100%. Your skip rate should also be less than 20%. I currently maintain a skip rate of 0%.
If being at WA for the long-term is an objective and if you would like to be respected within our Community, I highly recommend that you embark on this journey. You have much to gain from it.
6. Earn Credits To Request Site Comments
For each Site Comment offered you receive 1 Credit. These Credits can be accumulated and spent when you request Site Comments for your website, pages or posts. An excellent trading forum.
Do note that these are not dollar credits so they cannot be exchanged for cash. They are good to keep "in the bank" though and saves you from having to spend your dollars to buy credits for requesting Site Comments.
Be A Part Of The Solution
There has been a lot of posts and exchanges about the quality of Site Comments (this writer included).
Wouldn't it be great to be a part of the solution? Think how good you would feel to know that you took the time to learn a skill and used that skill to support your fellow WA Members and yourself as we build our businesses TOGETHER.
I look forward to seeing more of us participate in the Site Comments space.

Everything that you have touched upon Cassi is very true and much needed. I wish I knew you in the beginning just maybe I would be there with you.
I learnt to depend on people that are in the same type of Niche as myself because I knew that their comments would be very relevant to the content I was writing on.
I did this by searching out like-minded people in my PMs then asked for comments and in return, I would do the same for them. This created a constant flow of comments that were of great value to my site and to theirs.
We called ourselves the supper seven we are now only five but we have moved on to FB and our own group page. but we are still active in helping each other out on our sites.
One of us does use site comments and does very well with it because of her content is very versatile.
Nice work Cassi Linda
Linda, thank you for your feedback and comments.
I will certainly check out your group.
It would be great to have you journey along with me. 😊
I like your idea.
Maybe a little group with similar content to share comments and support.
Have a good weekend.
Cassi
it worked for us and we are very happy with the results. Sure there was a bet of work to get there but that was the fun of it we made great friendships on line because we were doing the same kind of work.
You are inspiring Cassie. I have been frustrated with the quality of many comments. Especially when the person just repeats the same sentence in different ways to make up the paragraph.
It wastes my credit and achieves nothing. Criticism would be more appreciated.
I've had some awesome comments on my website, detailing a spelling mistake or format correction. They have really helped and confirmed that some thought was given.
We can all do better.
Great post.

Thank you for your comments and feedback, Lily.
I agree with you.
Bad comments do waste our time and credits.
On the flip side, the good ones REALLY help us along.
Be safe. Be well.
Enjoy your weekend.
Cassi
I thought the spelling mistakes and format correction were for site feedback, Lily! Am I mistaken?
Jeff
No you're not mistaken Jeff. These criticism have only been left on website comments. It was great feedback and I went and corrected what they suggested.
Lily 🎶
Okay, Lily! Thanks for getting back to me! I hope all is well with you!
Stay safe, my friend!
Jeff
Cassi,
Very good information. We have had a lot of mediocore comments lately. I tried to do some commenting last night but just got too tired to start.
I will return to them later today or this weekend for sure.
Cassie, very well said. We see many blogs on site comments. I like the teaching approach you take with this one. You even made me want to start doing site comments again.
Thank you

Really great and informative post!
It is true that posting a good comment well constructed should not be a rare thing. So I hope there will be more people as conscientious as you and that the level of comments will be a little higher. I wish you to become one of the best certified commenters.
Ingrid
Ingrid, thank you kindly.
