My #1 Lesson From 3 Years Of Building My Business
I am cutting straight to the chase today.
The key message I want to share - and I will continue to share - is that the ONLY way to succeed is to take ACTION.
My time in Wealthy Affiliate (WA) is short. I do not have the years of experience and success that these members like do:
- Vitaliy
- Prince Partha
- Andre
- Roope
- Queen Diane
- Empress Catherine and,
- Nathaniell.
These members are only some of the many who I respect and hold on to as Role Models in WA.
What gives them the edge - the lead - is that they are always taking ACTION. regardless of their circumstances, they are always moving forward and trying different things.
They work in and on their business, every day.
They show up to support our WA community, every day.
They take ACTION, every day.
The CHOICE Is Yours
We have more than enough opportunities available to us in WA to succeed.
I encourage our members to give 2 to 3 years of initial time and effort to begin seeing meaningful and sustainable results. At the same time, from my own experience, I am also aware that results could be obtained sooner, IF you are prepared to work harder.
Allow me to share an example.
Matthew joined WA in January 2022.
Ten (10) months on he has:
- Completed 47 WA blog posts.
- Asked 33 questions in our WA community and,
- Written almost 143,000 words of content for his website. (More than 99% of WA members for the month of October 2022)
- Hit the top spot in Google rankings with one of his blog posts.
- Achieved a Site Trust of 90%.
Matthew is on a roll and I extend my congratulations!
I am certain that with this consistency and determination, success will start flowing sooner rather than later.

On point, Cassi! Plain and simple.
Not having time if a person wants to do this and achieve success is not an excuse. There will always be a few minutes per day that can be used to drive an online business forward that are totally wasted on other stuff.

I agree with you, there is no other way but to take action! There are many success stories on Wealthy Affiliate, as you rightly mention. We need to take notice of the action-takers and learn from them.
I think too many members start here and almost expect overnight success. Unfortunately, life is not like that! I believe that realistically and as you rightly mention, it does take 2 to 3 years to gain traction. Of course, it also depends on how much free time we have available to grow our business.
One thing is for sure, consistency is key!
Many of us need to change our script!

I agree that everyone does not have the same amount of time at their disposal, Roy.
BUT, from my research over the past 3 years, I also know that many of us do not use the time at our disposal wisely and effectively.
So much is wasted.
Once gone, it can NEVER be replaced.

Oh yes, Cassie, I could not agree with you more, especially when it comes to using time wisely and effectively!
I can become very frustrated if I waste my time or if someone else wastes my time! As you say, we will never get that time back!
One of the reasons I like to start early in the morning, is that it gives me time to do a few hours to work on my online business. I then go and work on my offline business. However, when I return home and try and start working on my online business, in general, I find it considerably more difficult and, unfortunately, productivity goes down!
There are also times when we need to step back from working and rest as we are not being productive! But, coming back to your main point, it is so important that we spend time wisely!
One other point, I can get very enthusiastic about work and perhaps have a really good evening working on my online business. However, I can't then stop thinking about it in a positive way when I'm trying to sleep, if that's possible! That can then affect my productivity the next day! It's almost like my enthusiasm has held me back!
Sometimes it's hard to get the balance right!

I am like that sometimes when it comes to sleeping, Roy.
I find that there is so much to do and think about that calming my mind becomes difficult.
But. shutting down and quieting myself always helps.

It's good to be enthusiastic about our work, however, it can be difficult to calm our minds at times!
Here is a good and unique way to calm your mind! I am a great Laurel and Hardy fan; every time I see their faces, I just laugh! It may be a slightly different way, but I go to bed laughing and it seems to work! Of course, not everyone would agree with my method!

I fully agree with your message. TAKE ACTION and never be afraid to CHANGE YOUR SCRIPT if you need to. Being persistent and consistent plays a big part in our success.

We could be taking ACTIOn but it could also be the wrong ACTION if we do not (re)calibrate before we take our next step.

Hi Cassie, You are so absolutely right we have choices and we all need to take action on what we want to have.
Do we want to live comfortable no more financial worries?
Do we want to be out of debt?
Do we want to live in a nice house instead of renting an apartment?
Tire of living paycheck to paycheck?
Even more important do want to get married and have a family?
All these questions have yes for the answer and there are more questions like these that only WA can help you with. We have an outstanding community people that truly care and that is looking for everyone to be successful.
You are absolutely right, we can't do anything unless we take action for what we want. We have everything we need to be a success. Now we have to take action and work hard for ourselves and not for someone else.
Taking action is the most important choice we will ever make so let just take that action already.

1. Know "why".
2. Make the time available to invest the effort.

Hi Cassi, That is what it boils down to: We have to make that choice do we want something better or do we just keep on doing what we are doing.
And you are right we have to know the "why". That is the key question. We have to answer that question honestly if we can't do that then we have no chance of changing our lives for the better.
We have to make that decision to make the change and we have to be honest with the answer. I will be the first to answer the why question.
The why for me is not to worry about what to pay and what can wait, I am tire of picking and choosing between medication, gas, and food. I am tired of living paycheck to paycheck. I want to get everything paid off and we can finally breathe and do what we use to do and that is take day trips.
I am tired of living with the stress of not being able to make the payments on anything. I want to move into a Condo because we know that everything will be taken care through the HOA.
Because neither one of us can take care of a house anymore. Our health is not the best anymore. So yes that is blunt, honest to my Why.
I am going to challenge everyone to tell there why. Because then we can help each other better and be better support and better at paying it forward. We all want to be better at this but we all have to put in the effort to this business.

The journey is not an easy one but once we are grounded to our "Why?" and we are making this journey for ourselves, we are able to find joy and meaning.

Yes the journey isn't easy and if was everyone would be doing it. But I believe that only the people that are true to themselves can make a go of this business.
Because once you lose the truth, honesty, integrity, then you have nothing and you have to put more effort into gaining what you lost to have to prove that you can be trustworthy and honest.
It will be a hard road to travel but if you really want to be where you once were then you have to take what you get and you have to prove everyday what you can and can't do.
