One of the most beautiful relationships to watch is a father's relationship with his daughter. It is also one of the most important ones because that relationship determines how your daughter embraces (or not) love in her life. The same is true for a mother and her sons.

The world has recognised duaghters by having a (Inter)National Daughter's Day. The day is marked differently around the world.

  • September 25 National Daughter's Day - USA
  • September 27 Daughter's Day - India, UK (4th Sunday in September)
  • September 28 World Daughter's Day

Why Recognise Our Daughters?

(Inter)National Daughter's Day was introduced to erase the stigma that accompanied having a girl instead of a boy. In many countries there is still a preference for boys as they are seen as being able to lead the household, earn a better income and bring more wealth into the family.

Women, around the world, continue to fight for equity and equality, face many hardships and suffer immense abuse.

This special day reminds us that girls and women are precious and need to be honoured and cherished.

Our Special Weekend

Zafirah and always celebrate Daughter's Day, which turns into Daughter's Weekend. 😊 This year was no different.

Life is short. COVID-19 has made is even shorter. We could not be with my Mum this year but we are thankful to have her paternal grandmother close by to continue our tradition.

After a really fun Spa Day on Saturday, we are relaxing together today to watch some funny Netflix serials and movies, enjoy some Italian and Chinese food and a short road trip (if weather permits).

If you are blessed to have daughters in your life - remember that your spouses and mothers are daughters too - take some time out to celebrate them.

A hug, phone call message can go a long way. πŸ˜€

We wish you an enjoyable day.

My Dad has been dead for nearly twenty years but U still miss him every day. In the 1050's he made sure that his only daughter got a private education the same as her two brothers. Even though I clearly remember all the neighbours laughed at him for educating a girl.

i wish I had someone to celebrate daughter's day with. What a lovely thought . Enjoy with your daughter

Catherine, that is beautiful. πŸ€—
