Music, Rhythm and WA | Find Your Balance

I was born in Trinidad, one of the islands in the twin-island Republic of Trinidad & Tobago. From our shores we can see the coast of South America (Venezuela) on a clear day. Music, culture and dance define us. They are in our blood and we take advantage of that at every opportunity we get. This can be good . . . or not so good. Sometimes it consumes us and causes us to go off balance as we neglect other important things to party our lives away.

This got me thinking about Wealthy Affiliate (WA). I am now into my second month at WA and I cannot wait to have at least four (4) hours a day to focus intensely on what I want to do here and where I want to be. I am discovering SO many opportunities here in my short time. There is an abundance of opportunities, experience, talent, education and diversity in this space. So much so that for a couple of weeks I lost my rhythm. Thankfully, I was able to realise that the beat of my music was slowing down and I had to regroup.

Here are a couple tips that are working for me . . .

Choose Your Script | Define Your Purpose

From the profiles and introductions I am reading everyday, most people are here to start or build their online business and earn money to improve their lives. That is the result of your purpose. It is not your purpose. This took me a while to determine but I have finally hit the nail on the head. My purpose if to help others build a life that will provide them with an abundantly healthy, diverse and successful achievements and a hunger for lighting up the lives of others. For me, this speaks to us as individuals being responsible for changing our own lives while helping others improve theirs. Although I will support as many as I can through my purpose, my focus is on children as they are the future.

Find A Beat | Establish Your Priorities

This is important. As you start out you want to take your time and think about each step. Do not rush through everything. Go back and re-do if you have to. Be calculated. Keep referring to your purpose. As I started to navigate WA I felt somewhat overwhelmed. Kyle and Carson have been building this community for over a decade and hundreds of thousands of people are ahead of me. At first I felt compelled to move fast and catch up. Then I was dancing to the wrong beat. The waltz was playing and I was doing the tango.

So, I began putting pen to paper - setting objectives and prioritising them - I was able to achieve something EVERYDAY. Going back to my purpose, helping people, meant that I had to build a network of my own and get to know the members of the community:

• Who can I reach out to?
• Who is similar?
• Who is different and can help me to have a different perspective?
• Who is already achieving and can share their learnings?
• Who needs help and what can I offer them?

So everyday I get to know at least ten (10) members of our WA community. I read their introductions. I think about why they are here. I try to determine what their purpose is. That helps me understand how I can support. I reach out, connect and welcome them to our community.

In one and a half months my network has grown to 147. My goal is to grow that to 300 by the end of November. And, at least 500 by the end of December 2019. I want to move into 2020 with a strong global network. That is an organisation right there!

Two-Stepping | Set Your Routine

These are two very simple steps that can help you get a routine going. Make WA a daily routine. Start with one step . . . everyday. Practice. Add another step. Practice. Practice. Soon you will be dancing along like Fred Astaire . . . admirably!
