Introducing a New Search Experience at Wealthy Affiliate!
Hey Everyone!
Today, I'm going to walk you through some exciting enhancements we've just rolled out for the main search functionality on platform. This is a significant upgrade that's going to transform how you find and utilize the wealth of resources available to you here at Wealthy Affiliate.
Keeping search results current and ultra accurate is an absolute must in the fast-paced world of online education and learning. There's nothing more frustrating than sifting through outdated info when you’re trying to find something, especially when you know the content is there but you just can't find it. I know that I've spent far too long finding content in WA, but no more!
Ok, so what's included with this new search update? First off, you'll notice each search result is tagged with a date, ensuring you're looking at the most recent and relevant content the moment you hit search. I know this doesn't sound like a big deal, but truly when it comes to search, you want to know when the content was last published so that you can make a decision which content you want to consume. In Google, I constantly find myself skipping over content that has no date, or is too old to be relevant.
New Content TYPES included in the Search Results
Video Blogs, or Vlogs, are our latest addition to the Wealthy Affiliate learning resources. We're moving a sizeable portion of our short-form video training into bite-sized Vlogs that are incredibly simple to digest. When you search, you'll increasingly discover these Vlogs, which align with our ongoing efforts to expand this feature. Very soon you are going to see a ton of video SHORTS hitting WA on a daily basis, and these are going to be easily found by the new search.
Classes have a more significant presence in the search results too. Whether you're looking for a SINGLE CLASS or an entire SERIES, the new labels make it easy to determine the type of educational content you'll be diving into. The SERIES CLASS label is especially useful if you're trying to follow a sequence of lessons on a particular topic - but we also deep search into the specific series classes too, so that you can find training related to a particular topic that may be part of a broader series.
To present only the most recent and relevant content front and center, we've sunset much of the older training. While the legacy training shared in past tutorials, video's and courses may remain partially relevant, the online business and digital marketing landscape evolves very quickly, and so must our resources here in WA.
Any Favorites that you have added in your account will remain visible and searchable, even if it's an older resource and may no longer be in the general results. You'll see that your Favorites are listed at the TOP of the results if they are relevant to what you've searched for. If you'd like to stop seeing an older resource displayed in the results, then just un-check the star and it'll be removed from subsequent searches.
On opening the Search, it now has quick links to CORE training at Wealthy Affiliate, which includes our new replacements for the legacy Online Entrepreneur Certification and Affiliate Bootcamp training courses. This allows you to tap directly into the core training with improved accessibility for both newcomers and seasoned members alike (Hint: It's very easy to find so we can share the links)
For anyone wanting to access the search functionally in WA, just click the top SEARCH (Magnifying glass) icon and it'll open up. A great way to find content on any topic that you like!
Let us know what you think - give it a try!
With this latest update we're now able to introduce many more tweaks that will help to fine tune the results to give you exactly what you are looking for every time.
Have a great day!

Hi'ya Carson, I'm very thrilled that you guys are again displaying the published dates of content within WA! I feel exactly how you do about that, frustrated when I can't know how current a piece of content is. It really does matter, doesn't it. Several times, I've wanted to write in to ask if you folks would consider allowing the publish dates to be displayed.
Also, I'm very glad to hear about your purging of outdated information, it'll go a long way in making the site easier to find current, relevant information. You guys just keep making this site better. Great work! -Mark
Thanks for the feedback Mark - I agree on all fronts. Although content may still be relevant that was published a few years ago (which much of it is). Content that is published very recently carries more weight. When we have tons of training on most topics, let's keep the new stuff as it's likely going to be helpful on more fronts.

Hi - no matter what I search for, even if I type in the exact title of one of my older posts, it won't show anything prior to 2022.
(Unless I have bookmarked it).
Is this what is supposed to happen?
Some of the older stuff is still relevant and useful, in my opinion.
So, for example, if I know I have an older post that directly answers a query, but I haven't bookmarked it, then I now have to scroll through all my 360 posts to find it!
