A Brand New Blog Experience at WA Marks the Beginning.

Last Update: March 08, 2018

Hey Everyone,

Today I'm writing you within the brand NEW Blog Editing Platform here at WA! This is the first of a series of updates that are going to be taking the whole WA experience to a new level. I'm really excited to tell you all about what we have planned in the weeks and months ahead.

Millions of Images Available for Posts at WA!

We've expanded on the SiteComments Images platform and made the features available to the WA blog editor. I'm so excited about this project because it's something that is used by so many of us to share our stories, document our journeys, and get help and coaching from the incredible community of folks in WA.

Telling your story, engaging with readers, and communicating effectively is enhanced by the use of relevant imagery. SiteContent brought Millions of CC0 (royalty free) images to the Wealthy Affiliate platform for folks to use when creating content for websites. Now Millions of images are available for posting at WA.

We've included a new "Cover Image" platform so that we can make our content pop and look amazing within the WA platform. Cover images are optional but as we move foward, they are going to get our content more exposure and reach within the community. Adding a cover image is suggested but of course not required :)

Adding images to Posts here within WA have never been so fun and easy.

Other tools included within the new blog editor include the spelling and grammar checker, live word counts, improved auto-saving, improved draft management, along with the formatting tool set that you're used to in SiteContent!

Cover Images... Beautiful, but There's So Much MORE!

A picture can say 1000 words...not only cover images for posts in WA, not only the imagery within content, but within the information that you consume and interact with. You will notice on social platforms like Facebook and Instagram, to Twitter, to Popular News Sites...they all have something in common. Beautiful imagery and the ability to interact with the content.

Notice anything in the image directly above?

This is the Beginning of BIG Things to Come!

This is where I get to hint at something we're hard at work at in the background of WA. Kyle and I have both been alluding to something BIG coming to WA in 2018 and although we are constantly improving the WA platform with new features and updates, we've got something special planned for the near future.

...and I want to give you a heads up of what we've been working on...

I'm going to tease everyone with these few screenshots and in the coming weeks I'm going to be showcasing what exactly we've been working on, the timeline for a release, and what we can expect from our brand new WA PLATAFORM!

This is beyond exciting - this is the accumulation of our knowledge, member feedback, and ability to truly deliver a platform that is worthy of the outstanding reputation that WE as a community, have all worked so hard to build at WA.

Everything has been built from the ground up, and we've got new platforms in all elements of this streamlined, well-organised, and fun user experience.

  • Profiles
  • Dashboard
  • Live Events
  • Help Center
  • Training
  • Activity Feed
  • The list goes on

Today we released the new WA Blog editor which is going to give blogs here within WA a powerful visual presence! We've also given you some insight into our biggest update EVER, our band new WA user UI/UX which is going to allow us to carry out our exciting vision for WA through 2018/2019 (which we already have slated out).

In the coming weeks leading up to the release, I am going to be blogging about new features coming to WA so that we can all be ready for them when they arrive. We do not have a set date for the release, but we are moving into the final stages of testing now.

We would love to hear your feedback about the new WA blog editing platform - let us know how you enjoy using it...and remember it's part of the bigger picture!

Carson

Hi Carson

I know I am late in writing this, when I first went on the WA I thought something happened to my computer, I literally said OH NO what did I do. Then I saw the login button and saw that WA has changed. I like it a lot . It is just as easy if not easier to navigate. I want to thank you and Kyle for caring about us and how we grow our businesses.

Hi Carson,

This Blog looks like something I need. But, I am a Newbie, and tried looking for it, but was unable to locate it.

Hopefully a quick question and answer....I built my Blog/Website in the Affiliate Bootcamp area, and unfortunately selected a not so friendly Website format that says it is not approbate for a Blog. How do I find the Brand New Blog and swap it out for what I have now??

Thank you for constantly making our lives easier and more interesting so we have more time to write the contents. =)

Hi Carson,
Awesome stuff ;) I think images are a great way to keep readers focused on the content. But I think user interaction is also important too. Maybe give users optional tools to state their opinions, express themselves and get involved. This is something I'm working on for my website. Talk to you soon! ;)

Hey Antonio, within all blog posts people can leave comments and discussion can happen between all members of WA. What other tools are you thinking could be of benefit in WA blogs?

hey Carson,
I think a really, really cool feature that would benefit WA blogs is linking blogs by categories, topics or keywords. For example, if someone writes about S.E.O. tactics, maybe I would like to continue reading more blogs about SEO. So instead of manually searching for it, right at the bottom of the blog there's a widget or button that shows similar blogs. That would be super cool.

Have a great day! ;)

I really need to get back in gear. This looks amazing and I'm going to study it thoroughly.

Have had out of town guests for the past month and more coming tonight and next weekend but as soon as they're all gone,I'm getting into this big time!

Thanks for all you do, Carson and Kyle...you've got the patience of Job with members like me and I DO appreciate it.

Here is an age old problem! I tried to get into my website using my username and email and password or a combination of each which I had written down, as my username and my password. However I was unable to get to my website! It would not let me in, so I tried to set up a new password and a new user name or email address, and still wasn't able to get into my website, what do I do now?

Well, I got in, however it was to the wrong website! Lol! I'm trying to figure out why it keeps bumping me to a different website, so I'm open for suggestions? I'm a newbie, so maybe it's just playing around with things a little more, but it's frustrating sometimes! Just saying! Thanks, Steve

Hey Steve,

Please create a hosting support ticket so that I can look into this for you.

When you create a hosting ticket it gives us all the information about your website that we need to investigate.

To add a hosting support ticket just go to your website dashboard, then click on "Support Tickets" from the top tabs and proceed to add your ticket.

Hi Carson, I'm not there yet but I'm getting there! I'm excited working on it all day today WA that is, I've been busy with my"real"job the last couple of days, I should say my real profession! Which I really love! But I think with this and adding to what I do is going to be an outstanding combination I've got great ideas and I hope they play out! At least I'm counting on it!
PS, something came up last night during the webinar and I had to run out and take care of the business at hand and I missed the webinar which I was signed up for, is there anyway to watch that over again? Thanks looking forward to chatting with you!

I guess it was too difficult to have SiteContent publish directly to the WA blog, as SiteContent works with WordPress, and the WA Blogs are not WordPress. So this is like a customized mini copy of Site Content just for the WA Blogs? Cool! I complained about this just a couple days ago. You guys are listening. Ha ha.

Hi Carson. Wonderful! I have a request tho; is it possible to add an option NOT to crop images.

As it stands, my smartphone on which I do all my work here on WA, cannot cope with cropping images. To me that would be an IMMENSE improvement.!

Thanks in advance/ Goran Bockman

How exciting! Thank you for the heads up, Carson! I've been more focused on blogging for my site than doing WA blogs. I love using Site Content, so now I need to do more WA blogs. The new blog area looks great! Can't wait to try it out soon!

Thanks for all that you guys do for us!

I can't wait to see which improvements and suggestions that I made have come to the new version as well.

Waiting eagerly for the new releases and will start using the WA blog system soon enough. SiteContent I still love and use every day of my week.

This blog update looks awesome! I can't wait to try it out this week. I really like that you've made it more similar to the SiteContent platform, because I love using that and find it very user-friendly.

Can't wait to see what other updates you have in store for us!

"Slow clap here." I'm happy to see this roll out. Now I want to go back and edit my old blog posts here at WA. I've already done one and I love that you've bought in the features that make site content awesome here into the internal WA blog platform.

Folks the new user interface looks awesome and modern. It's going to make using WA on a different devices even better. I look forward to the roll out. Great job guys! These were some of the things that were discussed and revealed to us in Vegas. And it's nice to see some of it come out. More to come!

Do it Eddy!

Posts in the new platform look so much more engaging and consumption of the content is made better by such a simple update to the design of blogs.

Your posts on the new WA Dashboard feed will look like the attached image when they have cover images!

Carson, can we get the ability to rotate images especially within the content. I have a post where the image I uploaded was the right side up on my phone and computer. But when I uploaded to my WA blog, it was on it's side or upside down. So being able to rotate images would be great. It's less important for cover images. Thanks

Carson, I'm sooo exited about the better user friendliness of the blog tool on WA. I'm off onto my social media accounts to shout out about it!
Now, regarding the bigger picture you are hinting about, and as WA are giving much more weight and relevance to picture, are you by any chance giving direct access to social media networks from the WA platform?
I've noticed yet again anew design to the actual WA dashboard. It looks dashing, I can't wait!!

Things look really, REALLY good Carson! Can't wait for all the new features to be rolled out.

I think one of the things that would really send things to the moon, in terms of content creation, would be the addition of royalty free STOCK VIDEOS. I don't know how other WA members feel about or use stock videos, but they definitely add an unmatched dynamic. Of course, they are quite expensive, lol, and outside the budget of many of us greenhorns.

Hey, thank you for not saying this is how it is at WA and we will take your money, but we will not spend any of it on improving WA to make it easier for you to be successful.

Thank you for all the hard work you do to assure us of a fantastic journey here at WA.

Hello Carson,

I would have used the editor by now, would it not be the issue that the editor cannot send the blog created to my website leaving it there in draft mode.

So with this upgrade, is that resolved now? Otherwise I need to stay with current way of working.

It looks great. So for all other a good and useful upgrade.

Wow! This sounds amazing Carson. As a "poster" (as opposed to blogger) I have been finding it so hard to get good pics for my posts. Last night I looked at the various site where we are supposed to have access to a plethora of pics and in the end I gave up.

I am so excited about this new platform and look forward to the roll-out!

This is great news Carson! I hope the new blog editor is a more user friendly especially when it comes to the posting of images and videos. Also, the world technology is targeting mobile gadgets now more than before and i hope you had this consideration in mind as you were working on the new editor. I will be trying it out and see how it goes.

I am so excited for what is to come! Great work and thanks for always masterminding all you do! See you around again!

The time goes by so quickly and it seems I've just gotten started. I look forward to getting mine off the ground if I could just figure out the training, some things are different then in the videos and it makes it a bit more confusing on what wigets to click etc, so please if things are updated please update the video as well as its confusing enough for people like me who have no clue!! Thank you for this opportunity!! I'm so excited!!!

HI, Carson. I tried the new WA posting experience just a couple of minutes ago. I really like the cover photo option. My question is, how do we add more images in the text of the post? I didn't see any way to select images other than for the cover image. Thanks.

Great question. Along the row of icons (beginning with H1) the image icon is next to last. You have to click on that and it will ask if you want to upload an image at that point.

Happy blogging!

That's really cool Carson. I was wondering if the blog section had the same images option as the SiteContent one... It would make it easier to create blog posts. I will definitely try it.

Does the "link" function is going to be there too? Just like they can show anywhere else inside WA?

Sorry... I just saw that it already have all that stuff! I really like it.

Carson Premium
Hi Guy,

Linking images is not something that we will be implementing within the WA blogging platform simply because there is no benefit to linking images here within the community. We have man updates coming to how links are displayed when linking to content within the WA community - that'll come very soon :)

Gotta love images!

Once again, Kyle and Carson, these improvements keep me here. This is the longest monthly membership product I've been involved with. And, you and your team deserve all the credit.

One question since I can't seem to remember:
If we send someone over to someone else's WA blog post via an affiliate link, do I, or that person who wrote the blog, get the credit for a sign up?

Thanks for all the killer improvements!

Hi Charles,

When you send the affiliate link, that you get from clicking the affiliate button on the top right of every post, to someone - you get the credit for clicks.

Whern you link your own content (questions, WA blogs, tutorials etc), you will anyway get the credit - even when you use the direct link to the content without the affiliate part of the URL.

Similarly, when you link content made by others and forget the affiliateID part of the URL, you will not get the credit, but the person who created the content.

Hey Steven:

When you say I get the "credit for clicks," you mean I get the credit if that person signs up?

Thanks,

Great news! This will save me from popping over to pixabay.com when I want to add an image to my WA blog.

It looks like the only way to ask a question soon will be through the box at the top of the page. I've found it quite frustrating that people were using the pen icon instead of the search box to ask questions that have been asked and answered soooo many times before and didn't include images because that feature was only available through the search box.

Wow, this is good news! :)

Now that our blogs here will have cover images, Facebook and other social media sites will have beautiful images to scrape for featuring in our social media posts (aside from our enlarged/stretched WA profile photos featured inappropriately in social media posts)! lol

Thumbs up! :)
