My New Life
Today is the first day for the rest of my life. That's what gets me up every morning, and since it's summer, I hit my swimming pool, actually I jump in, and pump hard to get my blood warmed up and flowing. After spending nearly three years in and out of bed, it feels good to be alive. My remaining two dogs get up with me. Since 1997, my husband and I adopted 13 dogs, beginning with 5 retired Greyhounds, adding another when one passed on. We moved to Glendale Arizona May, 2012, with 7 different breeds of adopted mutts. Cancer seemed to be prevelant in Greyhounds, Valley Fever here in AZ took two. Two dogs remain, the Cocker is 14 years old, nearly blind and deaf, but happy. Little Chico is 8 years old. I love dogs, have never purchased a dog, all adopted, and I support the local humand society.
My youngest daughter and I live together in a big 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom house. Have tried taking in boarders . It's an experience like no other. No elaboration on that. My youngest daughter was five when I started at Community College, then went to U of Oregon. There she met people from all the world, babysat their kids, and is the most acceptable person, in my family, of all nationalities.. She raised four children of her own, then came to live with me ten years ago. We love living together, sharing our ups and downs.
Thank you for allowing me to share a tiny part of my life experiences. Kids, dogs, and widowhood.
