Emperors New Clothes
I am starting to think this social marketing strategy is akin to the emperors new clothes. I have followed all of the marketing strategies in the Affiliate Bootcamp. I now have over 100 tweet followers and have had over 90 facebook likes of the articles posted on my website,liked.
My twitter is now filled with people who are all trying to sell me something, many of them wealthy affiliates, my facebook, even though I set up a special business page, this site doesn't seem to allow you to ensure you are sending out invites from your business page and always seems to revert to your personal page. My facebook is now full of many gun toting, red necked americans who actually call people niggers and hate Obama and promote guns. In Australia that is just not acceptable social page content.and would be banned. I do not want to allow such disgraceful opinions anywhere near my facebook or even want to sell them anything.
Lots of people are reading my articles on face book and liking them. But they are reading them off facebook and not on my website. All of the comments on the way my website looks and feels have been great. But again people find it easier to read the articles on their phones.
90% of twitter is people trying to sell you something else.
Unless you enable us to ensure that we can set up our facebook connections to ensure they come from our business page NOT personal I will NOT send out anymore content by pressing my affiliate button. It seems many other people are having this exact problem as I have asked how to fix it several times and several people are asking the same things. Why aren't you fixing it. I am not into bombarding my friends and family with requests to join Wealthy Affiliates, I want my business page to do that.
Also I would tell everyone NOT to bother to buy the plug in Custom Facebook Feed WordPress Plugin it is useless.

I haven't really had a problem with Facebook apart from a 19yr old dj from Kenya asking me to marry him (friended via a WA member)! He was swiftly blocked.
I only have a private FB account and privacy settings mean I'm not searchable. I promote through the friends I have and sometimes they'll share the link. I have a few WA friends and share any promotional links I think my friends will like.
Pinterest I'm starting to like, it works in a different way so you don't get bombarded with sales pitches.
Twitter I've never joined, just never liked the whole concept.
Have a look at Pinterest if you haven't already, you won't get piles of rubbish on there. :)
Very well said, social media has turned into a hub for amateur marketers, trying to sell their shirts for a few dollars, I have deleted many WA members from my Facebook account due to the endless sales pitches without offering any kind of value and even building a relationship with me

It would take a little extra effort but for FB, instead of just sharing a post, put up a blurb and a link to your site. That way you get the traffic to your site? Just a thought.
I agree, I don't care for FB. I don't worry much about sharing there. I do plan on utilizing their ad option at a later date because you can search using (I forget what they call it lol) but you type in your words ( i tyoed in single moms) then it shows suggestions. I click on Find all groups named "single moms". It is a great resource that way!
You can target specific groups who are all ready interested in your topic.
Hi Kathy my real point is 2 fold
1. I followed the training in the Affiliate Bootcamp exactly. I used exactly the tools Kyle used to get Tweet followers and it it just not a good strategy if you don't want your life invaded by idiots.
2. Again in the training Kyle shoes how to share lessons or WA content via facebook. In your profile on this page, there is no place to actually set up your facebook settings so it automatically seems to choose your personal site. This has opened up my personal facebook, as I said, to a whole bunch of individuals that I would have nothing to do with. They need to fix this and give us the opportunity to set up the account the right way as we do on our web pages.
As for writing excerpts for facebook, if you set up your website to publish an article it doesn't give you the opportunity to just send out an excerpt. I am extremely computer literate so have no problem controlling my own site, it is this one and the training I have an issue with. I think it is outdated and needs to be revisited. Reading other peoples questions and blogs many others are having the same issues and since this is supposed to be a 'supported' community' then they should be addressing these issues.
I am having a lot of success with facebook post boosting but again they are reading it on facebook.
I am looking for other ways but I would have thought that we should be getting better advice from this site.
