About Caramac48

Hello, I am Elisa and I live currently in sunny Central Florida. I emigrated to the USA in 2009 and grew up in Manchester, England. I have a BA (Hons) History from the University of Central Lancashire and a Certificate in Hospitality Management from the Rosen College of Hospitality Management, which is part of the University of Central Florida. I am also a trained teacher specializing in Elementary Education, US. History, World History and British History.

I worked for the Walt Disney Company for over 5 years. In addition I have experience as a substitute teacher and as an upper elementary teacher in Florida. In my spare time I enjoy reading, cross stitch embroidery, musical theater, singing and scrapbooking.

This is my first step in changing my career after being diagnosed with a chronic vestibular disorder which hinders my ability to drive. I am determined to make sure my illness will not stop me from working!

These seem like pretty reasonable goals. My best advice is to follow the courses and check off every task at the bottom of each lesson. I am just finishing up lesson 10 in course 2 and am really excited about starting course 3 where I will learn how to actually make money. It sounds like you have got the time until school starts, so try and get as much done as you can in this time.

Thank you, I am working on course 1, lesson 5 right now, and have my first niche worked out. I did have a quick look at your website, it was very informative. One of the things I have learnt very quickly in patience, hard work and quality are key.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

I have just built my first website, my first niche is help and resources for substitute teachers - providing information and links to resources I wish I had known about when I started out.

Cool niche, just make sure that you are specific in terms of helping people with the life of a "sub"...don't try to cover too much within this niche in particular when starting out.

Totally agree, I will be aiming at the subs themselves. There is a lot of sites for teachers about preparing for a sub, but not very much for subs preparing to step into classrooms. As the long summer is so close I think I will concentrate a lot on articles about surviving the summer and encouraging life long learning right now, then move into back to school and classroom management in July.
