Hi. Once you are a premium member, you are always a premium member. Which means you can't go back to being a free member without a payment.
The only way you can do this would be to close your account. You would have 30 days to move your website to another host. You could then always come back to WA in the future if you wanted to.

The pixels will appear if the images are too small and being increased in size. In most cases, site headers will automatically crop & resize images. Shrinking images does not result in pixels but increasing image size does.
