Day 8: SiteComments needs revamping?
I thought I would make todays update post about SiteComments; I've seen a few other people post about this, and I think that there is definitely some changes that might need to be might regarding the way we get comments to our sites. As of now I have an active requests on SiteComments that has sat there for the best part of a week, and I also have had a comments refunded due to lack of responses. Has anyone else seen dropoffs in the activity and response times within SiteComments?
And if so, what can we do to help repair the function? I love the pay it forward way in which we can gain real and useful comments and hate to see it in a less than ideal state.
On another note, I've seen pages go up 10 pages in google after installing Yoast plugin and making changes to posts based off the analytics which is pretty awesome to see. The tradeoff was some big headaches reworking elements of my site linked to the previous plugin, All In One SEO but overall I think the trade was worth it!

You are not the only one this system has change greatly since I have signed up. It is not the community that it says . Also in writing our blogs I have made 2 and I have a network of 250 people and not 1 person has commented on my blogs. 4 strangers did and they are now in my network. This is not give and take anymore, and I gotta tell ya I am done giving I would like to get now.

Sorry to hear that Karen. I’m sure this scenario is less than ideal for everyone involved, and hopefully enough constructive criticism gets fed back to Kyle and Carson that changes are made.
I thought it was only me. It is more that is to bad well I will check comments what is your site about. And you can read my blog under my profile. Because I am just working on my stuff but if you have something out there let me know I will do the task. Maybe you should give this to Kyle.
Noticed the same thing! I have comments sitting for the better part of 1 week there and I request about 5 comments in one go. I really don't know what is going on to be honest with you. I actively use it, at least a few days a week, that's how I am able to request so many comments, but I barely got any.
Yeah it’s frustrating because the only way to counter it is to request so many comments that you get a few, but obviously that takes more work than SiteComments was originally intended to take.
Yes, it is very frustrating. I got a few more comments since then but there are still many comments outstanding.. :(
