Day 25: Knowing When To Call It A Day
Today was a little frustrating, but I was able to take an important lesson from it.
I was working on a article for my niche site that I was aiming for 4000 words with (my longest yet). That was my 'main' aim for the day.
I got sidetracked and ended up doing other adminastrive tasks and little bits here and there until it was getting on into the afternoon, part of me not really wanting to start my post.
Well, I got going eventually and found my rythmn soon enough. I managed to reach 1500 words before I realized it was getting pretty late.
I had two options- call it now, save my work and get up early tomorrow to finish it off, or keep pushing until I finished.
Usually I would go with the second option but my gut told me to just chill out this time. It's important to give ourselves regular breaks (I've been working like a manic recently) and know when to call it a day.
Remember, this is a marathon not a sprint!
In hindsight, if I'd carried on I probably would have opted for low quality 'filler' material, rather than the great article I had in mind, which hopefully will be achieved tomorrow.
Hope this inspired you to put down your pen for thirty minutes and give yourself a well deserved break!

Excellent job so far! The biggest thing I took from your post is to continue remembering that this truly is a marathon and not a sprint.
Thank you! Yeah it's really important to keep that in mind otherwise you end up just sprinting the first mile and then lagging behind the other 25! Keep it steady :)
You’re slamming it!
That’s an awesome amount accomplished, you’ve earned your break!

Brilliant effort so far my friend.
I appreciate in your writing style a feeling of being onboard with the process you are going through.
Also liked the bit about the marathon we are on, though I think I may be running an Eight minute mile to your Five.
Let's say, even still, this is all very encouraging in following you and sharing your energetic perspective.
To the future of enterprise then...may you enjoy being around for a while.
Respectfully David R.
Thanks for the great comment David.
It's always a pleasure to connect with like-minded people- I noticed you are interested in languages too?
Slow and steady wins the race (something I should probably remind myself of)!
Hope to see you around.
