Does your website have to sell something or can it just be a destination to drive traffic?
Your site can be informational, but you still want to try and monetize it. There are a couple of ways to do this.Like bis suggested you can use advertising. Or you could try to find affiliate programs that are in the same information area as you are. Why don't you post a link to your site and maybe we can help you come up with some ideas. Whatever you do it is best to advertise or affiliate yourself with sites that are helpful to elaborate the information that you are giving. This will help your rankings. However before you get all caught trying to make money you need to focus on your content because it is good content which will drive traffic to your site and without traffic you have nothing
You don't have to 'sell' anything, but most people even if they have informational sites also want to add something that will bring them an income. That could be advertising.
Hi There,
yes a niche can be informational, but I would still suggest that is is something you are passionate about as you will need to spend a lot of time researching and writing about your niche. Not sure if you have watched this yet but it should help:

That format is generally used,if you don't pop those links in you will have a hard job making any money on info. and personality alone...all the luck Jenny
I guess you could have an informational website (this is what I am planning), while you are passing on your knowledge and information for free you can be referring to various affiliate sites that relate to your niche. Amazon Associates is always a good starter for this, pick a few books (or other items) that relate to your niche and have ads or promote them in the text of your site. This way if someone likes what you say and wants to find out more they might just click on the link to buy the book or whatever.

Mine is informational but it is also instructional. There are some products people need to
actually buy in order to have the ability to accomplish what's on my site, and it's not something most people have in their homes just sitting around. If you can pair your information with something the consumer "needs", I think it works well.
