I am seeing a lot of Comments being listed as Questions. Here's why!
As I have been trying to boost my rankings by answering questions, I have found that quite often the "Questions" that show up on my Dashboard are comments on other blog posts. I did a bit of research, and here is what I found.
To see new Questions on your Dashboard, click on the pin icon.
Then select "New Questions" and then "Save Settings".
Now that you have New Questions, you can see them automatically by clicking on your Dashboard.
The Problem
Sometimes, I find that the New Questions are comments on a previous blog post.
Here's why this is a problem. Sometimes, a commenter is expecting an answer from the original poster. But when it comes up under New Questions, everyone will see the question. You may get an answer from someone else. If you don't want just anyone to answer, you need to be careful with how you submit your comment.
See this example -
The option to say if you need Community Help with your question appears automatically any time you enter a question mark inside a comment. If you don't want community help from just anyone for your question. Please select No.
If you select Yes, even if you just wanted one particular person to answer it, we're all going to see it appear on the New Questions "card".
Hope someone finds this helpful.

Sometimes in comments, when you put it in a question, there is a box that asks whether it is a question to be published or no. It is your judgment whether you say yes or not! Choosing yes will help others to know the question and think about it which may lead to insight or more understanding. ✨🌈💥👍
I almost agree with your comment. The question will be published in your comment whether you hit Yes or No. The difference is whether it will show up in the New Questions "card" which can be set to appear on your Dashboard.
And like I said, even if you're asking an important question, it might be directed only at the original post author, in which case you would be best served to answer No.

I find sometimes people post a comment without actually offering an answer and I think this is in some cases just to boost ranking which can be a little frustrating. Unless it's extending the question or perhaps liking the question or other peoples answers then I wonder whether we should be a little more thoughtful about whether to comment. Ofcourse it could also be about increasing traffic so I can see why this might be happening, but that too I would question. Just my opinion.
That happens too Martine, very sad to see.
