How many times You've heard 'Embrace the change'. How many times You've heard 'The only Constant is the Change'.
Now, when the shocking Corona virus change has come how do we embrace it?
As a Head of Communication department I used to shape messages and memos from the Management board to the employes. I used the sentences: - necessary adaptation to the new circumstances in business; - Change is good; - Yesterday's world has gone, we must be part of Tomorrow's world, etc. eetc. Many times CEO and members of the Board murmured and complained that employees are to conservative and resistant to management's bright ideas about change.

Today, we witness that yesterday's world has gone. Nothing will be the same as before Covid-19 lockdowns of cities and state borders. Today, CEO's and business owners are ultimative in demanding to push World not to the future but to the Yesterday's condition (?!?). Lot of them quote Winston Churchill, famous UK's Prime minister, who once said 'There is nothing wrong with change, if it is in the right direction'.
If I would be in position to send them memo from the Communications department I would remind management to 'Embrace the Change' and 'Reset and adapt to slow motion'. Like after 9/11, never again state borders will be totaly open. Due to the sanitary controls and lot of checkouts, transport will never be as fast as it was. You will have to wash Your hands on up today impossible ocassions and locations. Customers will change their buying habits and they will save more money for the potential future hard times...etc.,etc. Do we have to fear it? My answer is - No!
How could I be so sure?
I was born and live whole life in Croatia (part of ex-Yugoslavia). During socialismus regime and during recent war that we suffered in the ninties me and my family survived shortages of goods and foods, low human rights, hard to get passports, long waiting on the borders, life in shelters, city lockdowns, fear for life, expensive bank loans and real estate, extremely hard taxes etc. And we survived. And we survived for decades. And we are well. It is possible. If You adapt on time!
