Google knows a lot about you!

Hello business friends,

Good evening! Today, I would like to spark a conversation about what Google knows of you. I'm sure you have some idea, that whatever you do on your device, a company like Google and others alike know what you've been up to.

But do you ever wonder how much a company, such as Google, knows of you?

Google's file cabinet. Hah! Hah!

Let's face it. This is not new. Your browser says a lot about you. A big company like Google makes its money based on your activity on your browser. Those Ads that you see when searching through your browser are the results of your interests.

I'll give you a great example. I have a lot of Yahoo! e-mail accounts. On the side of my e-mails, I see lots of Ads. Someone is paying Yahoo! to stuff those Ads there. Yahoo! knows that I have bought things in the past from those Ads. So, it will use that info based on my past activities, to flash them as I go through my e-mails.

You might think that this is bad. I would too. But if you are paying for Google Ads, your Ads might be the one that Google uses to attract your potential customers.

If you would like to see and control what Google knows about you, the link below will take you there. https://adssettings.google.com

I personally, don't mind, but it is a good idea to know what information is there about you.

What do you think? Should you be alarmed? Do you care? Please share your thoughts and "anger" if you have any, after finding what Google knows of you. Lol!

Thanks for visiting.----John.

You are right, everyone is tracked online, no matter what account is where. It could be email addresses, social accounts, purchases made, or even your own domain, they know about it all.

Tracking users is what caused VPNs to blow up so big.
Some users don't allow cookies and use ad blockers.

I don't mind, I hope they track me to page 1 search results...lol

John

I don't mind that too, friend. But as far as personal info, like my S.S. number, credit card number, or anything that people can steal to gain monetary value, are not allowed.
That would be nice to track you on page 1 results. I'll take that. Lol!
I appreciate your comment. All the best!

Good morning John,

Thanks for this share, looks like tech are more getting in our life, good and bad, bottom line I should know this after all we will be expose regardless as we are marketing affiliate, ha ha ha!

Somehow its like someone making use of every chance to do ads and how they make thier money:)

Cheers
joce

You're welcome, friend. It's not that bad. As long there is no sensitive information being exposed, I'm fine with it. If I was doing a campaign ad, I would expect Google to place it where those people of interest can see it. So, it's fair game. I appreciate your comment. All the best!

Yep me too😜

Really interesting and I like the link in your post.

Personally, I find it a relief that Google targets the ads and I don't get all those inappropriate ones that we used to in the early days.

It is a shame for advertisers that I often get adverts for things that I've just bought.

I'm glad you like it, friend. I agree that Google takes into account showing Ads that are of interest to you. As long as these data-bearing companies keep it that way without using sensitive information, I'm fine with it. Thanks for commenting. All the best!

Scary, isn't it? Still, I'd rather Google knew a lot about me than other people or places I could think of. Basically, I don't think they mean us harm. They just like to collect information. It's most likely to our advantage that Google knows us, as it could be helpful in moving our business forward.

That's so true, friend. Example: bad hackers or bad actors. Like, I've expressed above, it could be one of our Ads shown to target the people of interest. It is fair. But I do draw the line when to comes to sensitive information. This is where I put a limit on. Thanks for commenting. All the best!

Very interesting John!

In my opinion, there is not much we can do nowadays to not be noticed by these tech giants, except for moving away to a far tropical island somewhere with no internet or contact with the outside world!

Sounds good actually!:-)

Enjoy your day my friend!

I agree, friend. There isn't much we can do. But we can put limits on sensitive information. Going on a tropical island might not be that private also. Google Maps will spy on you. Lol!
But less will be known about you. Thanks for commenting. All the best!

I totally agree with you there John!

All the best to you too!
