Slow Down to Move Fast? Take a Break. Read Gladwell's.
I'm no writer. Good at maths and science at college while just average in languages, well, it was 30 some years ago. Writing used to be a tough task for me.
One Blog One Post So Far!
Joined 1.5 months, got merely one blog in WA, one post published to my site and 2 posts WIP for past 2 weeks. Not a good progress really. Gotta learn to move fast and catch up!
Slow Down To Move Fast?
Press the "Pause" this evening to read Malcolm Gladwell's "Outliers" again, my favorite author and my third time on this book. Just finished reading the intro talking about "Roseto", a community and effect of surrounding people on who we are and how we become.
Much like he's talking about Wealthy Affiliate. It fires me up! Can't wait to jump to my computer and write my second blog here.
Time To Take Another Break
Kyle told us not to spend too much time polishing our articles. The readers will judge the good and bad. Perhaps this is what I needed to improve to move fast and complete my 2 WIP posts soon.
Get serious this time and use an online stopwatch. Just chosen the cover pic and spell checked. WOW! Below 40 minutes to get this published, not bad for mediocre writer like me. Don't laugh my dear veterans, please. LOL!
Time to read chapter 1 of the book again, it's fascinating and entertaining. And Gladwell uses a thousand words to paint a picture in your mind.
Nice weekend everybody!
Brian

Maybe you're not a " writer," but you write good posts. I like your style. Keep on!

Hello Brian,
Great blog. I have also heard sometimes we take time to further motivate and recharge the mind. There is so much to read and do, but this is a marathon not a sprint. Enjoy the process at your own pace. Everyone is so unique, that we try to catch up, but then realize it's ok not to. Step by step we will get there. Now a premium starter congrat's. If I can assist in any way send me a private message and I will try my best to answer any questions.
Take care,
Bill
Hello Bill,
I'm moving forward, though slow. Eventually got my 2 WIP post published, now working on the 3rd.
Thank you for reading my blog and your encouragement.
All the best!
Brian
Hi Susan,
Thank you for reading my blog and leave me your message.
There's a lot to learn about affiliate marketing or online business, especially for a genuine newbie like me. Believe WA is the right place to provide the training and support, or "Opportunity" in Part One of the book, got to work harder to seize it.
Brian
Hi Brian - so glad I found this post!
I'm glad you are finding time to slow down - it has always been a philosophy of mine that not much gets accomplished when you aren't in the right frame of mind for a particular task anyway. Slowing down may leave less time on the clock but in all likelihood that time spent is much more productive
This book contains many insightful points - probably the one that strikes me most is the notion that there are many factors that contribute to success.
This is apparent here at WA. The training is extensive and comprehensive and attempts (I say attempts because I haven't even finished Level 2 yet so I have no true authoritative voice here) to cover every aspect of online affiliate marketing we need to be successful. If by chance WA doesn't cover everything then those are items that probably aren't crucial to success :-)
Nothing here to lead you to the belief that you can "Get-rich-quick-in-3-easy-steps". Time + effort + training + support + motivation +...= success and your post is a gentle reminder of that!
Thank you for sharing this!
Susan

Take it in your own time, I am no writer either but can tell you that after doing something consistently (among the tips here) I have become A LOT better and so WILL YOU :)
/Stay consistent (no matter what speed you go)
Thanks John. Believe my writing can be improved through practice. Brian
