Does Silence on the Activity Radar Always Mean Inactivity?
the Activity Radar doesn't always mean that we are inactive, off the radar altogether, or that we're sleeping.
A case in point, is my own situation.
Art and anthropology are my areas of education and interest: my niche of choice. It has been a number of years since I have needed to do any formal writing on either of these topics. I am a little out of the loop here. What does this mean then?
Although I appear to be off the Activity Radar here at WA, this is, however, far from the truth. I have moved over into the silent research partner position.
Collecting data, images, stories, definitions, making decisions; what is of interest today, is it salable, which medium to focus on, translation the language of art so that non-artistic potential audiences can become interested hence, becoming a potential customer, and the list goes on. This stage, for me, is exciting. Very visually stimulating. Academically fascinating. Psychologically powerful as it takes me on a journey far outside of the angry earthly political mayhem around me, and beyond my own internal quagmire.
So, does silence on the Activity Radar always mean Inactivity?
What might your personal answer be?
I think you know what mine is.
Not at all !

I fully concur. Some of our niches require field study/research and the analysis of that work. It does take some time to get back into the writing end of this, too!

Bill, it was nice and affirming to read that I am not alone on the need to do field/study/research.....organizing how it will go on the site ...what to say first...then next and so and so on...how to find salable items for a not so popular type of niche.

If you are talking about your rank here at wa, i believe it is an indicator of how active you are within the community here at wa.
Do you ask questions, do you create blogs, do you take advantage of help in chat, do you help other members with questions etc
FHagstrom, it is always encouraging when people take the time to give a response to our posts. Unfortunately, in this case, you missed the point of my posting.
I was using the term 'Activity Radar' figuratively and not literally.
Nonetheless, your comment reminded me of what the literal meaning of the 'Activity Radar' refers to. And for that, thank you.
I just checked out your website....It looks very well laid out. And of course those ice cream machines would have been very nice to have today as it was a real stickler here.

Bren, As I read some of the other responses, I kind of thought that I had missed the point you were trying to make. At first, I thought you were referring to the WA ranking
Thanks for taking the time to look at my site, any type of feedback, good or bad is always welcome and appreciated
