4 Week Update

As of today, I have been a premium member for 4 weeks. I have a few referrals and my site is getting ranked.

All of this is good, but I think I need to change my tactics a little.

One of my referrals came from facebook. She sent me a message and started asking me some questions. Then she decided to try the program. Which is great. However, I am not making any money because no one that I have referred is going premium. I do not expect or want anyone to go premium unless it is something they really want and can afford to do.

This is part of my problem. I am getting very few people from social media. I do not know where most of the others are coming from. But I think I need to make a some personal connections with some of my followers on social media so I can get more referrals.

I have been posting a line or two describing my site, then posting a link. I am going to try to make a connection with people. Ask them what they are looking for and then see if WA is a good fit for them. I have several programs on my website that might work better for some. Just because I did not like the program does not mean someone else shouldn't try it.

I also built my website to educate others on work from home programs, not to make money. I think this might be putting a block on my succees with this website. So I am going to start another site. I am going to put equal focus on both so neither falls behind. The second site will have affiliate links that have nothing to do with working from home. I will simply make commission on products purchased.

For both sites I will try to connect with people that I advertise to instead of just posting a link with a few words. If this works better I will post an update or another blog to let everyone who is interested know. It may be a few weeks before the other site is up. I have started it already, but everything is still in draft. I do not want to publish it until I have at least a few pages and posts.

Update:

As it turns out I am not very good at making a personal connection the way others on FB are. Most of them put up a post and have you respond so they have to talk to you and ask you questions before giving you their link. I have been very unsuccessful at this.

Since this is not working, I am going to just put a more personal message before adding my link to the post. Instead of just describing what my webpage is about, I describe how I use it. I don't know why I did not think of doing that to begin with. It makes more sense then just a brief description.

I have never really used social media before except to talk to my family. Social media is hard to get used to. I think I am getting close though. Only time (and traffic) will tell,
