Making Close to $4K a Month in My Niche But I'm Lazy

WOW WA!!! The new platform looks GREAT! Yeah, I know most of you are used to it already but this is my first day/night on the new platform. I've been busy growing and earning more money in my niche and thus it has made me lazy in getting back into the community.

SOMETIMES MAKING MONEY CAN MAKE YOU LAZY

Now I know why many of the WA Ambassadors I followed when I first started here, are no longer as active if at all on the platform. Of course many could have had life changing experiences that have forced them off, but I'm sure many are making lots of money and are doing other things.

This is where I am in my 12 year journey (WOW, 12 Years?) here at Wealthy Affiliate. Several years ago I was ranked around 5 in the WA Ambassadorship program and I was making decent WA commissions. However, now I finally have a money making niche of my own and put most of my time there.

In the past two years I have slipped off in the WA rankings, it's not a big deal for me anymore, and have been occasionally interacting here and there within the community. My time is mainly spent in my regular job and my niche, which happens to be related to my regular job.

I was making $3,000.00 per month in my niche two years ago and now I am making close to $4K per month. Earning passive income is FUN!. For those of you who are new here at WA, I blogged about my niche two years ago. If you are curious about what it is, you can read about it here.

WHY AM I LAZY?

I'm certainly not lazy in growing my niche, like I said, it's related to my regular job in healthcare. My laziness is getting back and staying back within this great community and training platform. Seeing how I am doing well in my niche, the urgency to STAY active here in WA is challenging for me.

I went through the training here. I made money promoting WA. I know the training works and now that my niche is earning me more money, I'm starting to be like those former WA Ambassadors which I used to look up to. I see they are still here, just not as active, and that is where I am too.

I also get it. As Wealthy Affiliate keeps evolving it brings new opportunities and new adventures. This new platform update looks NICE! Reading Kyle's latest "Weekly Challenge" about reviving something you started got me thinking that I should revive my presence here, even if it's not to the level it once was.

So my point and advice to all of you here at WA who have yet to earn your steady passive income...DO NOT STOP! DO NOT QUIT! It will happen if you focus on that goal and not get distracted. One day you too can be lazy about your activity here, if you choose to, once the money starts rolling in.

I would rather be lazy in this way, than to leave WA all together. I will NEVER leave this community. There is so much knowledge and inspiration here that DOES lead to a better financial future and leaving makes absolutely no sense to me. Let me know your thoughts below and I'll see you around the community.

This is what conscious learning looks like in practice - 12 years of patient adaptation, persistent experimentation, and authentic community engagement. What strikes me most isn't just your financial success (though that's inspiring!), but the wisdom in recognizing that "making money can make you lazy" - that's a profound observation about how success changes our relationship with learning communities. Your advice about focusing on ONE site until it prospers is pedagogically brilliant: deep mastery before breadth. I'm curious - what was the single most valuable mindset shift that happened during those first two years before you saw income? How did you maintain motivation when results weren't visible yet?

Thank you. I'm happy you enjoyed my post here. To answer your question...

I maintained motivation because I could see that success doesn't come within a year's time when starting an online business from nothing.

Even when I started selling on eBay, an established website community, it took me a couple of years before I became a Top Rated Power Seller.

Success takes time and a lot of effort. Plus I trusted Kyle and Carson's guidance plus many other members who were making it work.

All of that combined, I knew I would get my level of success to come eventually. Set small achievable goals and that helps too.

Haha, I love the honesty here — and congrats on hitting nearly $4K/month in your niche! That’s an incredible milestone, especially since it’s tied into your day job in healthcare. You’ve clearly done the work, and now you're reaping the rewards (a.k.a. "lazy mode" with purpose 😄).

I totally get what you mean about drifting from the community when the niche work picks up — I’ve been a member here since 2015, and during that time, I’ve had seasons of grind and seasons of quiet too. But the foundation WA provides always draws us back when it's time to refresh or refocus.

Really appreciate you sharing this, especially for the folks who are still on the journey toward their first breakthrough. Your story shows that persistence pays off — and that it's okay to step back once your systems start working for you.

Here’s to another 12 years of steady passive income, momentum, and maybe a little “productive laziness” for us all!

🔥 Keep thriving and inspiring!

It was my pleasure to share this update. All success I've achieved with affiliate marketing is a result of the great training and supportive community here within WA. There's no other place like it!

"Lazy Mode with purpose" = I LOVE THAT! I may need to use that catch phrase for a future inspiring WA blog. If you see that in the title, you'll know where it came from.😊

I'm so glad that you said you will NEVER leave this community. I feel the exact same way. I'm a lifer. Even if I have gone through the training numerous times, there is always that little gold nugget that still needs to be uncovered.

It's also nice to hear that your niche is doing well. I read about your niche when you first posted about it and it's very inspiring. Thanks for sharing again.

Hey, I just came back in May myself, I remember you from the early days. You gave me a lot of good advise and help when I would get stuck. I even used to tell some of the people I referred to check out your blogs, here because they are very informative. Great to see you back around the community. I did the same thing but for different reasons. I needed to get myself fixed spiritually and now I'm back. Be well my friend.

Thank you Jason. I've always felt that by helping others, it will come back to me when I need the help. I'm a firm believer that a person of faith cannot grow unless they are right with themselves spiritually.

It takes an ongoing effort to see any kind of results and I know for me, I need to be right with the Man upstairs for that to happen. He helps me get through those rough spots. All the best to you! 😀

WOW! and this simple update post has shot you back to stardom! It also gave me an idea that I was not thinking about originally. I was going with the idea of writing about affiliate marketing, but never had it cross my mind to write about what niche my job falls within. I will set aside a category on my website specifically for that.

3

I love when my posts spark the imagination of the reader and helps them to see something from a different perspective. The great posts from the older WA members did that for me when I first started out. They helped me to see things differently than how Kyle was teaching.

I feel the one reason why I'm doing well with my current niche is because my regular job requires this niche to function safely and effectively. Plus everyone in my healthcare job, uses the products I promote. I do too! I'm like a walking advertisement. It's a win win!

As for me being shot back to stardom from this one post...everyone loves reading success stories, especially from those who started out just like them here at WA. I'm sure that "stardom" will fade when I step away briefly from the community again. 😁

Lol. I like reading your post Bommer, i think i told you this a few years ago. How my sister who stays in another state reads your blogs because she is in the healthcare. Industry. I so happen to show one of your post here to her and she said yea. I know that guy. Im like well isnt this a small world.

2

I think I remember you saying something like that to me. That's awesome! Thanks for the memory!
