Hello everyone,

I wanted to comment on something that happened to my sites this morning. During the training Kyle talked about setting up a "Site Map" for your site and then setting up a "Google Analytics" account as well as "Google Console". You can get a plug in for the site map and it's free to sign up for the Analytics and Console tools.

I will try to locate the video and post the link here for everyone but just know you can use the search bar next to the WA logo that's found on the top area of your PC screen.

I won't go in to great detail here about what each of these do. I'm more interested in conveying the fact that by setting these three things up your posts will get ranked quicker. You can also find out why a post isn't getting indexed as well.

So after all these tools are installed, verified, and activated Google will basically move around your site and actually look at all your posts and unless you are breaking some rule Google will index the pages that haven't been up to that point. If there is a problem with your page or maybe ads you placed on those pages then Google will let you know the problem so you can fix it. No more flying blind.

To put this in perspective. Every day or so I would get an email saying Congrats your page/post has been indexed by Google. I thought I was moving along very well. Then I get to the training where Kyle walks you through how to sign up for Google Analytics and Console and activating the site map.

So, today I check my email and there's a group of 12 emails and each one said congrats your page has been indexed. There's no way you can convince me that this was a coincidence. Even if it was a coincidence, the Analytics tool is a great addition to your site. You can see how many people visit your site of course. However, you can also see what country they are from and even what city. You can change the settings so it doesn't count you as a unique visitor. You can see which pages they went to and how long they stayed on the page. You can also see which of your pages are the most popular.

One feature I like is that it will tell you where they came from. So if you are posting to various social media platforms and not sure if your getting results then this will help you. For example mine said 10% from Pinterest 5% from Google + etc etc.

Anyway, I just wanted to post this brief blog to let you guys know how the Site Map, Google Analytics, and Google Console help get me indexed. Even if it doesn't help you get indexed quicker I believe these tools are a must have so you can see your progress and the increases that take place as you build out your site.

I hope this helps someone out there.

Also, if you comment please let me know if you noticed a similar reaction on your site too.

Kindest Regards

Aaron Baker

This is a great example of what can happen with a decent site map... I’ve thought about one, but after I build other parts of my niche site, as I’ve focused only on one of three key areas of my site so far...

Hello yeah I thought about the timing as well. I started the site map when it was suggested in the tasks. However, let me suggest that tou consider putting it in sooner rather than later. My thinking is that it will make your posts index quicker so as you build out your site indexing and rankings increase faster. Im having a hard time articulating my thoughts here. I guess im saying theres no negative that I see to placing one in now instead of waiting. I guess it's personal preference I would have rather had my site map in place as well as the analytics sooner rather than later. If nothing else maybe set up the analytics and console now. Theres so much information conveyed and that might serve to motivate you and also tell you why a certain posts might not be getting indexed so you can fix it. Anyway, thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to read and post a comment. Thank you

Great info I am not that far into training yet but thanks for the heads up

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. Im curious what style of music you enjoy playing the most? Are you holding a Gibson?

I like playing old rock and bluegrass. I am holding a Epiphone Les Paul. I also play banjo, mandolin and fiddle but mostly the guitar and banjo....

Bluegrass is awesome and very challenging. I was just curious. If i see anything in an image with an instrument i become super curious. I play keyboard/piano and fairly recently picked up bass guitar and love it. I love playing rock blues etc. wish I could sing but thats not happening hehe. My brother is a guitar player he has been called a prodigy which for me is just a euphemism for "big pain in the rear" or I could just be jealous hehe. Anyway keep in touch if theres anything I can help you out with. Take care Aaron

I am the only person in my family that plays anything except for the oldest son which I show him how to play and he went to it like a duck to water. I can sing that well either but I just play for my entertainment. Bluegrass is hard at times but really sounds good.
Banjo is hard to play and takes lots of practice but the fiddle is really hard plus I got fat fingers and a cheap fiddle could be why people run when I break it out. I always but cheap instruments at first then if I learn it I will up grade to a better one .Anyway take care.

PS that would make a good post.....lol

Thanks Aaron, good work & thanks for confirming what we have been taught works.
Cheers Jae

And thank you for taking the time to read and comment on it. I'm still new to writing blogs here but I put it as a goal to write more here and get the feedback. Everybody has been so helpful and kind with their comments. Good luck to you

Thanks Aaron. Any information will help. I'm still learning all this and hopefully I can understand it enough to implement it.

Absolutley and feel free to contact me anytime. Go to my profile and site so you can keep my private message info. By the way I reply way quicker then this usually. Also id suggest reading my reply above I wrote to ellford and if i can help you set things up or share the video walk through about google analytics and console I think it would really help you out. It's kinda motivating to see that actual people are visiting your site. Anyway keep in touch

Hi Aaron,

Thanks a lot for sharing. I've got Google Analytics set up, but I have not set up the site map yet. I'll get on it post-haste and let you know how the results are. This is extremely helpful! And congratulations!

Cheers,

Norman

Thank you so much for your comment. I still get a bit nervous about posting but I have been getting several very nice comments from people about my posts. The video walk throughs are great even I was able to follow them. Theres a part in a the video where you'll have to add code to your website and it made it extremely easy. I was really nervous about editing the theme because I didn't want to blow up my site and you do have to be very careful when you get into editing your sites code. You really can't avoid it either because if you sign up to the google services or pinterest they will have you put in a code to prove it is your site. So when it comes time for that be sure to triple check your work before you save your changes. If you get stuch the community will bend over backwards to help out that includes me. Good luck to you

Thanks Aaron!

Cheers,

Norman

Wow! Thats over the top excitement, right there.
That is so awesome Aaron.
Congratulations!
I would have been running around the house yahooing lol
So happy for you :)
Amazing!

Di :)

Hehe i practically was, I did call a friend and tell him about it and he was awesome and acted like he understood what I was so excited about hehe. That's another reason I like posting things here because everyone here totally understands how exciting these accomplishments are. Thank you for taking the time to read and reply to my post.

Thanks for sharing, Aaron.

Very interesting insight.

I haven't set up all those stuff yet, I'm waiting to get a decent website up and running first.

I heard that a sitemap is a must have, not only for Google, also for Bing. However, a sitemap is interesting only when you have some contents.

I also heard writing posts on WA can get your post or page indexed faster and I believe it's real.

Now what peoples say a lot is, it takes not a lot of time to get indexed but to get a good a ranking is another thing.

Anyway, all these stuff take time, experimenting and applying is the only way to know.

Thanks for sharing what you're doing, now I know what I should do and what I can expect when I will be using these tools.

This article was definitely helpful

Thank you for your comment and taking the time to comment on read and comment on my post.

Awesome! I don’t think i’ve reached that point of the training yet but i’m excited to be. I still have about half my post that havent’t been indexed yet but you know i’m trying to not watch the water boil...

Awesome post!

Thank you for your comment. If you have the time maybe read my reply above to ellford. Basically, i'd encourage you to set up all those things I mentioned. Theres videos here that will walk tou through the process. If I can help you in anyway just let me know I'd be happy to help and thank you again for taking the time to read and comment on my post.
