I was so disappointed
Hey guys good evening to everyone!
Yesterday I hit a brick wall "FACE FIRST".
I've been in the community for a good 2 to 3 weeks now, and I love it. On my second week here I became a yearly member at Wealthy Affiliate, I have my websites up and running with some good contents, lots of traffic and etc (haven't had any conversion yet but I am not here just for that).
Well yesterday I asked (in my opinion) a simple and straight forward question, that was on how I could build a directory page. Witch is a dream of mine, I love directory pages, I love to see a good one, and just scroll down on it and call people to search for what I need or want. All I want was to be able to have a nice informative page THAT WAS IT. Well I had only one reply on my question and God knows that it was not the best one. The person just told me to go thru the training.
Well like I said before I am doing the training and I love it. But I just want some extra information and guidance on my site.
I went to bed very disappointed.
I went to work this morning and I was talking with some of my employees when the online business came up on the conversation, then one of them asked me "have you made money yet?" I reply "not yet I am in the process of learning"! He immediately said "if you haven't make any money then what you are in is definitely a scam!" Right after he said that I begin to remember in how many web scams I have walked in to and I told him that if here in WA they are scamming me they are doing a pretty bad job because they are giving me what I wanted in the first place witch is the KNOW HOW.
In the middle of the afternoon I cough myself thinking on that reply that I have got yesterday and I realized that I shouldn't be disappointed better yet I should reach out to some people that had help me in the pass, and there is lots of people in here that have helped me and many others.
Well I wrote this blog to remember some people why we are here and it is to learn, so if someone ask a question and you don't know the answer just don't answer it. Because we are here to learn and we all know that are many videos and tutorials here to help, but sometimes we just want to ask a question to interact and gain additional information from people that have some to offer.
I know that some people have no idea how to create a directory or other types of sites, many of us here just know how to create affiliate pages. But I will do my own research and build my directory. And I just want to emphasize that over all I have had many good help from the community and I love it here. You guys will see me around for a long time.

Sometimes I notice when you ask questions that are slightly outside the area of training and expertise of most members of the site, it may take longer for a reply. Simply because the guys who are doing this aren't necessarily logging in here everyday.
Best thing like you did here is to raise the issue again, and if you do find out any info be sure that others will be keen to learn from you as well.

I may be misunderstanding your question but when you refer to 'directory" I am assuming you want a page wth the information contained on your site. If that is correct this free plugin will do this for you.

When i say directory i mean like a local business listings. It will be like a local and small version of yellow pages.
Ok sorry I misunderstood. That being the case the two plugins below are a great place to start. There are more listed in google. Most all of them have a fee attached. But they do come with support and tutorials. Best wishes.

These aren't free but they have been tested and supported. There are some simpler free ones, but most of them require some coding to suit your needs whereas these are featured packed out of the box and have help with installing and configuring them
One of the key features Atlas has is that the login and submit system is on the frontend and the user never sees wordpress's backend. It looks way more professional.
Hi, sorry but I have no idea how to create a directory but I am sure someone here at WA will know. I have created just about every other site, but never interested in directories. I don't even know how to monetize one.

I know how generate a good source of income from it i just don't know how to develop it.
To monetize is actually fairly simple, all you need is some good traffic then you get local business to advertise in it. I seen some ppl making some good income on it. I don't want to build like a YP or anything like that my main focus is local business, you can charge like 50 bucks a month per add, if you get like 6 ads and you get some business to subscribe to a full description of their business witch you charge like 15 to 25 per month you can generate a good income monthly.
There you go, plugins will do it for you. I knew someone here would have the answer for you. With you the very best with it.

Learning makes everyday worth it, I am in My 30s now, and still study everyday, not that I go to any classroom, I look for information , do practical exercises and try to get better, I have seen that results take time, an nowadays everything is aparently giving inmediate results, is a quickfix mindset that is killing the old practice of building one self. get fit in 30 days, lose 20 pounds in a week, moke money without working etc,,
One of the things that draw my attention here is that Kyle said at one point that work has to be done and I agree, I havent made any money yet, but I have learn a lot, share your esperiences maybe we could push together to our goals.
