Should I delete a post?
WA friends, I really need your help!
I'm wondering - should I delete old posts that I can't use in any way possible?
For example, I have a post on Ebates, but this site is no longer available for EU sitizens and I live in Europe, so...
I can't be an affiliate and this article is not bringing me any traffic.
And I read that deleting non-successful posts can really improve my rankings. I have some very well-ranked content and I don't want anything to drag them down.
If I'm suppossed to delete those posts, what's the best way to do so? I mean, is it going to affect my website? And how should I go about it?
Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi Boryana,
Yes, you can.
It's your site and is your content. You can do whatever you want.
Two things ...
If there are any internal links (in other posts) pointing to that post, you'll have to remove them.
If the post has been indexed, you should remove the post from the Google index. You can do that in Google Search Console: Google Index => Remove URL
Thank you so much for your reply.
But do you think that's a good idea? Maybe I should just update it instead?
What is your advice? What would you do?
It has to be your choice :)
But yes, you could simply update the post. Especially if you have visitors living outside of EU ...
Thanks again, I really don't want to set any redirects. I don't have any yet and I plan to keep it that way.
Thanks Zsolt, just what I was looking for.
John
Thanks for your time John!
