Iโ€™m Building A House

No that's not my new house. Metaphorically so to speak.I am building a house that is really my website.

Wealthy Affiliate has given me the tools(I wish they had contractors) to do this myself. I have ZERO and I mean ZERO technical skills.

In a few short weeks, working at my own pace, My website has not only been indexed by Google, it also shows up on the first page of a Google search when I type the website name.
Now to be realistic, most searches done aren't seeking out my website name but there were several pages under this search criteria so I was amazed when my website showed up on the first page!

This really is PROGRESS. Even though my website is live, I consider it still "under construction" because I know the site still needs a lot of work.

I believe my website is still being built at the foundation stage. I do want a multi story home at some point, but that is going to take some time. I also believe that if the foundation is shaky then the whole house will be shaky.

That's why I'm taking my time. "Build it,and they will come"

How many times have we heard that? It's a cliche but I believe it's also true.

I am also a work in progress myself. I have gotten better and actually have acquired some technical skills just from the training here.

Now let's not get carried away. I will never work in IT, and I doubt I'll ever conduct a training on any technical aspects at Wealthy Affiliate.

My progress on the technical side really is a minor miracle. I don't hate technology I just hate it when it doesn't work. When I'm in Word Press I'm actually in a foreign country and don't understand the language.

In my career, I have always been on the marketing or selling side. Who said water and oil don't mix? How many companies out there have a civil war because sales people don't understand IT and IT doesn't understand sales?

I have seen this with my own eyes. If you understand both I think you gain a real advantage. I will never be a techie, and if I was FORCED to learn this, I'd be long gone.

I still have a long way to go on the technical side, but not being force fed, learning at my own pace, I won't say it's been enjoyable but at least tolerable.

If I hadn't joined Wealthy Affiliate, none of this would have been possible. If you are just starting out, enjoy the ah ha moments first. I've had quite a few of those in the last couple of weeks.

Follow the training step-by-step it really does work! So while my website is still under construction, I will continue this journey until I have my dream home!
