A Longing In My Heart - Friday Poetry Corner

Hello WA folks, Wingman Chance here! How are all my good friends at Wealthy Affiliate doing this Friday? I hope you are all doing well and staying safe. Following all the COVID-19 rules that have been put in place is very essentially. Well, that's what Mom said. I'm just a dog! I'm not sure I quite understand what this is all about, except that we have to spend a lot of time indoors.

Mom said it was okay for me to write this blog because I could see she needed a little rest and I needed something to do to keep me out of mischief. I normally don't get into mischief. I'm usually a very good boy, but this shelter in place thingy has me going a bit stir crazy. Who knows what I could get into when I'm bored. So far, I haven't gone down that road but you never know...stranger things have happened! We all know how that goes.

I went for a nice car ride with Mom earlier today while she ran errands. I saw long lines at the bank drive up window and lots of people scurrying about with masks over their faces. Mom

said that was a good thing but it looked very scary to me. Mom came out of the store with a lot of toilet paper and some treats for me, so I guess that was a good thing! Treats for me are always a good thing and I thanked Mom with lots of slobbery kisses. See, I give great kisses, cause I know Mom truly loves me.

Mom has been hard at work trying to put together all her wonderful poetry to be published in a book. Have you seen Mom's work yet? I think it's pretty wonderful, but I'm pretty prejudice when comes to anything Mom has done. I can't wait to actually see it become a book and I'm sure Mom will be really very happy when it does. She's been writing poems for over forty years now and said she's very proud of her work. She is even in the process of writing one about "yours truly"...uh, that would be me. Yippee! Can't wait to read that one!

Mom and I are pretty proud of what we have accomplished here at Wealthy Affiliate over the past six months. A great deal of hard work has gone into learning and writing articles for our websites. We've even started to earn a little money. Mom said that's how she was able to buy me some nice treats today. We have both vowed that we're not going to quit, so our journey here will continue and we will keep moving forward.

Oh, Mom just said to remind everyone that it is Friday and it's time for another session of Poetry Corner. This may be the last session we write since it may shortly go into publication. Guess you'll have to buy the book to actually enjoy the rest of Mom's great poems.

A Longing in My Heart

An ache for you that won’t subside,

Untold feelings can no longer be denied.

I have a longing in my heart,

To be there for you from the very start.

I will go the extra mile,

And do my best to see you smile.

I long to see you time and again,

To hold you close, to touch your skin,

To feel your eager lips on mine,

Now and forever, I’ll be your one sin.

I long to hear your heart beat with mine,

For you to say you’re here for all time.

I long to feel our passions collide.

Hand in hand and side by side.

I long to have you hold me in your heart,

From now until the end starts.
